I was wondering what you all thought the stage appearance will consist of for a tour for the up and coming G&R cd?  Do you think there will be a incredible light show? Or how about stage props? Guest appearances?  peace

the stage set-up now has been the same, or damn near the same in the 2002 and 2006 tours.  I am hoping next time around we get to see a new set-up.

Although I never got to see a show on the Illusion tour...I always loved the two giant album cover tarps they had adorning the sides of the stage. Wouldn't mind seeing video screens in their place next time around diplaying both live footage and album art from all the GN'R albums (appropriate to the song being played, of course) throughout the show.

I like his look now (with Braids, beard). What is Could be better than that? With no news, No sign of everything, I more Afraid that we'll see GNR Next Tour in the Next 4 years, Just like in 2002. (God, Don't let that Happens !) nervous

Did you miss the screens behind the drum riser?

Uh...no...no, I saw those quite clearly, thanks. I'm referring to the HUGE tarps the adorned the SIDES of the stage on the Illusion tour. I found the video screens on the last two tours a bit small, not to mention distracting and without much style to them (like they were only put there because most major acts use video screens in their live shows nowadays...not because they were part of a cohesive stage design/plan).

I don't know...I guess I feel like the last two tours (stylistically) were too big for a 'club show' feel and too small compared to the grandiose shows of the early 90s. A lot of people say the Illusions tour was 'bloated' and 'over-embellished', but I kind of liked the theatrics they were shooting for. I hope the 'real' Chinese Democracy Tour is a bit more like the Illusions tour in that respect. If U2 and Pink Floyd can pull off shows like that, I don't see why GN'R can't.

Perhaps. To be honest, I don't believe the song/album title will end up reflecting the tone of the entire album. We're all thinking it may be all epic and politcal and such, but the idea of 'chinese democracy' might simply be one of many, many similar oxymorons written about on the album. So, if that's the case, I don't think a chinese or politacl motif is necessary. We'll simply have to hear the album in it's entirety before we get a sense of what really has been on Axl's mind all these years.

Axl has always been really into the visible meanings of the band (Really expensive video clips, tons of photo sessions...)

I always ask myself why gnr never did  millionare stages, such as Iron Maiden, Kiss, etc... to express in a very visual way their representation of the songs.

IF anything has to go, it's the drum riser.

I was never a fan of the stairs in the first place, but when I saw Axl take a tumble during the 12.20 show...that was it for me.

Good workout?  Indeed.

Liability?  For sure.

I would like to hear "Catcher In The Rye" with Brian May as a guest. And about the setlist.... I think 2006/2007's is fine but I would add "Rhiad"
