That was a great article!  I felt Duff was very honest & sincere, and it gave a lot of insight into what was going on, at that time, and what happened. 

No matter what people have said, I think the writing is pretty much on the wall as to what happened, especially with the way the STP tour appears to be going, so far.

What do you mean "the way the STP tour appears to be going, so far"?

The first show (Rock on the Range) got good reviews apparently and the show in NJ was dissed by the NY Times, but what does that prove in and of itself?

Bottom line is that Slash has absolutely demonized Weiland and made him out to be the villain in the breakup as he did with Axl.  Duff, to his credit, has not and has risen above all that.

Did you read the article? and what Duff had to say?  Anything Slash has had to say was pretty much confirmed by what Duff said, in the article.  Maybe it's just easy to blame Slash in all of this.  I don't think he ever demonized Weiland or made him the villain.  It is what it is.    

As for STP...they probably have had great shows once Weiland's on stage.  It all comes together, and the show may be great.  However, from what I've heard, crowds are waiting an hour or more.  Weiland apparently has a separate bus.  And then there's the Opie & Anthony thing - maybe they made it up...maybe not.  

I'm not anti Weiland or anti STP.  I've liked both, long before VR.  I'm just sayin' that it may be possible that the man does need help, and VR/Slash/Matt/Duff/whomever just might have had a valid point as to why things broke down.

I read the entire article and what Duff had to say.  None of that changes that Slash has laid everything at Weiland's feet like he did with Axl.  He absolutely made Weiland the villain, like he did with Axl, by laying the blame for the breakup squarely and solely on Weiland's shoulders.

I'm not anti-Weiland or even pro-Weiland.  I respect his abilities as a singer and frontman.  I just recognize that it's extremely unlikely, if not impossible, that the breakup with Weiland, like the breakup with Axl, is as black and white as Slash has made it out to be.
