Its opinion, i dont like him because he preached his own opinion to the retarded masses that were up his arse so they did what he said because they thought it was "cool". He wouldnt be the icon he is if he hadnt of died. The band probably would of faded out like most bands. If you go listen to the youtube clips of him talkin bout guns n roses some of the things he says he takes so out of context, it was rather annoying to listen to (when you know the facts) and then see all the people commenting below agreeing with him.
He moaned about many bands, even ones apart of the "grunge" scene like pearl jam.
You are right, it is opinion, but to refer to "the retarded masses". That is kind of like saying "ignorant fucking kids". It is irrelevant, and at best a straw man.
I don't buy into new music easily, But I think that I can recognize what my palate likes. Hence, The reason I over looked most of hair metal, and thrived on GnR.
