Honestly the last time I drank before 9 AM was a Monsters of Rock show. People in my group were puking before 10 AM. Personally, I can't do it. Even if I start at like 1 PM, I'll only last until maybe 7 PM and then pass out. Starting at 9, I would be out by noon if I continued drinking.
But there is nothing wrong with it as long as you are staying put, not driving anywhere, and can find the bed. Hey, you could actually booze, sleep, booze, sleep, booze, sleep...

Oh, God....alcohol right away in the morning....I'd puke! And I can only drink for so long before I'm done!
As for the original question - "whatever floats your boat", I guess, but if you're doing that, every day, and then doing it to ward off the shakes......that might not be a good thing. Then again, if you work the night shift and get out at 7 am, then you probably will drink before 9 am.
