Name a Sports record that will "never ever" be broken!

Serious thoughts only please.
I will have to say out of all these records...
Cal Ripken's record of consec. games played is amazing. That's not really a "true" record though I don't think.
Another one is Kareem's points scored. 38,000 points for a career is ridiculous. That's 19 years @ 2k per year or so.
LeBron is young, and has what 10,000 already? Here's the thing, he's not going to play but 10 more years tops... so he'll come close but no sir!
Pete Rose's hit record is pretty far out there too

DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak.
Marciano's 49-0 boxing record. To be clear..no professional boxer will win 50 straight.
Cobb's .366 career batting average.

Gotta put Favre's consecutive games played record up there as well. More impressive than Ripken's IMO.

NOPE
Peyton Manning will break that in about 5 seasons or so
56 game hit streak, Wilt Chamberlain averaging 50ppg and 20rpg in the same season
Oscar Robertson averaging a Triple Double for an entire season
Pete Rose hit record is ridiculous
All time wins and Strikeouts in baseball will never be touched
Kareem's scoring title will fall
How bout Wayne Gretzky's scoring record in NHL

Don't be so sure, 80+ games is a lot.

Cobb's .366 career batting average.
I was going to say those, along with a .400 single season batting average (not a record, but a mark that won't be hit again) btw the record is .440 (Hugh Duffy)
I'd also say OJ Simpsons Single Season Rushing Record (broken out as a per game average) he did it in less games than anyone will be able to moving forward.

Wayne Gretzky 92 goals in an nhl season
Wayne Gretzky 163 Assists in an NHL season
Wayne Gretzky 215 Points in an NHL season
Wayne Gretzky Longest Consecutive Point Scoring -51 games - 61 goals, 92 assists for 153 points
prolly alot of his records wont get broken for a long time but i cant see those ones ever being broken

I was thinking... I know it's got a lot of crap around it but Bonds' home run record may go unbroken...
Aaron's record stood for over 30 years, and Bonds was very lucky to break it, hell no one has came close but bonds.
Bonds' record will stand "Forever" unless Griffey gets it... he's 39 years old with 597, or unless Arod gets it... I think he's at 400 something and he's just 32.
Griffey will still get 30-40 a year, so maybe in 4 more years he will have it.

I think Bonds' single season HR record of 73 is less likely to be broken than his career record. A-Rod should be able to catch him if he can stay healthy, which until this year hasn't been a problem for him. Of course, as you get older the harder it is to stay healthy.

surprised no one has mentioned this one yet...then again im not because everything this guy did flew under the radar..
John Stocktons assist record...these numbers really are staggering...for someone to break this they better get ready to play and be an effective starter for 19 seasons...and only miss 22 games...

Most Assists, Season: 1,164 (1990-91, NBA Record)

Most Seasons W/ 1000+ Assists: 7 (NBA Record) Note: Only 9 such seasons have occured, 7 belong to Stockton
Average Per Game, Career: 10.5
Highest Season Average: 14.5 (NBA Record, 1989-90)
Most Seasons Leading The League In Assists: 9 (1987-88 through 1995-96, NBA Record)

Ricky Rudd's consecutive NASCAR starts streak.
NASCAR?s ?Iron Man,? Rudd started a Cup-record 788 straight races from 1981 to
the last race of his career in November 2005.
(He raced an additional season in 2007, so the streak may have been considerably longer had he not taken 2006 off.)

What about Blocks? I see that record being impossible.
Hakeem has it... like 3k blocks... Mutombo is the only one close and he's like 600 away...

Arod is over 500 HR's...actually, in the 520's, I think.
He's got a pretty good shot of breaking the record, depending on health and productivity, of course......

yeah it's going to be him or Griffey...
if Griffey plays another 3-4 years and stays healthy he'll have a strong shot. He's been stuck on 597 forever
