Here Today Gone To Hell Chess Club......... anyone?

One of my hidden talents is actually being a pretty damn good chess player. I've been playing since I was 12. My brother and I when we were kids would go to chess club meetings twice a week and play against Older guys and it was very fun.

I thought of somehow u s starting a HTGTH chess club somehow on here.

We could have leagues, meet up and play head to head online and post the results.

Keep standings and crown a champion

Anyone be up or interested for something like that?

a guy i work with is really into chess and is officially ranked. fairly high i believe. we've been talking about it and i was just thinking i'd like to get back into chess.

I don't know how to play but its' always seemed like a game I would enjoy. If I can go to a site and get whipped a few times and learn the strategy, I would be in.

I can play chess, but I rarely ever win 

I tip my hat to those who are good at chess. It is a tough game to master

Chess just takes practice and styles make games.

some people I beat, others I struggle with cause they are great at countering.

Chess is all about thinking moves ahead and having backup plans if those moves dont work out the way u hoped. U also got to get a little lucky and hope the person u are playing makes an error.

Also, its bout paying close attention. U move your queen to a space and u dont 100 percent check every angle, next think u know, u didnt see that knight in position to grab u.


Its been a decade, but this guy showed me a strategy once, where if everything falls into place, u can get a checkmate in under 8 moves.

The opponent has to play perfectly into it, but its awesome cause they pretty much move the wrong pawns and end up trapping their king with no exits.

There are too many outcomes to any given situation, for me at least

It is possible to checkmate in 2 moves if you have blacks and your opponent does what you described in your second sentence.
