"And with much thanks to reader Iain Mathieson, who sent an email with the tempting claim "I don't think you can get much more pompous than ..." at which point we realised we could do nothing but this). "
I know someone's dad who happens to be a musician and named like this...

Elsewhere, apparently in the wild west, Axl Rose walks past a shop selling "guns", looking moody. As there is no shop next door selling "Nroses", we can safely assume this to be ominous foreshadowing of events to come. Remember this bit, we might have a quiz later.
That bit was quite funny, about the n'roses.

The bit where Slash walkes out of the church was voted the "funniest moment in rock" in some magazine I read - FHM or something like that.

"Though it would appear to be just normal rain, people react as if it were the purest hydrochloric acid: they run, they scream, and things are knocked over (ominously) ..."
Hehe, that's what I always thought too, like someone had thrown a chemical bomb or something, everyone running and jumping over tables like it is the end...just some rain, your hair will be fine when it's dried

Suddenly: disaster! Though the outside reception was looking all lovely and sunny, out of nowhere, and spotted first by Slash and one of the midgets, it starts to rain.
hahaha

It reminds me of that comic strip where the 2 guys are sitting on the couch watching MTV saying "what the fuck is this shit?!" as 21st century bling bling gansta hip hop is on the TV.
Then it flashes back to 1992 for the premier of the new Guns N'Roses video, November Rain, and its like the coolest shit they have ever seen
Can anyone put that up, I cant remember what its called, its just a black and white comic strip, pretty cool though.
