Here Today...

Larry King is a great interviewer? WHAT? Has anyone actually watched his crap interviews. He lobs softballs so big a newborn could hit them out of the park.
My bet is once CD is ready - maybe the week or so before it's REALLY going to come out or slightly after, he'll do something with Rolling Stone, since it has the largest circulation for music mags.

Yeah I remember he did that probably (or so was the rumour) but I don't know if officially he's ever done it with a fan/fans.  I think it would be awesome for him to show that love though!

Larry King would be awful.  Watch his interviews, it's really obvious that he knows very little about half the people he's talking to.  Axl would be no different.

Del James? Beta? I guess a fluff piece would be better than nothing but he could just release a press statement instead to state what he wants to say.

Thank you! His interviews suck.

I heard from a dj that when you get to interview Axl you get a long list of things you're not allowed to ask, but when you interview him he ends up bringing all those things up on his own hihi

There has to be someone here who lives close to Axl, he should put a cup of fresh hot coffee on his mailbox every day and after a month or so a letter to him with the cup just saying http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com Or a link to this message board Smiley

I didn't want to name Jarmo, but yes he would be an excellent choice to interview axl/the band.  He is very loyal  ok

That is not what's needed. Not if you really want some honest answers at least.

I'm not suggesting you have Bill O'Reilly interview him, but someone who can be fair and at the very least...........objective and not AFRAID to ask difficult questions

Maybe in a Storytellers-type session where he could take a few questions, then play a few tunes, talk about the songs etc.....

The person asking the questions has nothing to do with with whether or not the person answering the questions answers honestly or dishonestly.  The degree of honesty or forthrightness displayed by an interview subject is up to the subject themselves.

Bill O'Reilly is not what I would call even remotely fair and objective.  He's antagonistic and if you want honest, open answers from someone, antagonizing them is not the way to go.

With someone who doesn't speak very much publicly, the way to go is to have someone who can create a sense of comfort for the interview subject.  That sense of comfort can make it easier for the dialogue to flow.

He is a straight up dick.

On topic: Though he is not a music journalist, Micheal Musto has a wit that is unsurpassed. I would love to see an interview done by him.

I think Kurt Loder would be best.  He's been there since day one.  Do an interview with some fans there and have a question and answer session towards the end of the interview with them.

And Larry King is awful.  He's just scary too look at. It's like an old dead alien.  And Bill O'Reilly not the most open minded  or objective person I can think of (LOL).

You still need questions that resemble the following:
" Axl - Why stop a tour to finish an album, and then not finish the album, and then tour again? Was it fair to the fans? Was it a financial matter? "  -  and not
Gee Axl, that 2002 was great, too bad you did'nt finish it. 2006 was really exciting...are you touring again?

I did'nt invoke the name of O'Reilly because I think he's fair. I actually think he's an asshole. However, he would ask the questions that I want asked and not throw him softballs

I'd rather have the screws put to him a little and get some real answers b]

No matter what, Axl doesn't seem to give interviews (or doesn't want to "whore" himself out).     Delete.   Grin

Do we always have to put Axl to the question?  It'd be cool just to let the man talk and say what he wants without the drill.

I totally agree. Axl is more at home just sitting down and hanging out. If things come up thats one thing, but I wouldn't push him into talking about certain things. Just would be nice to hang out.
