Guns N' Fuckin Roses baby

« on: April 25, 2008, 08:28:26 PM »

I've been thinking alot here recently about the release of cd and how you have got to admit we are, closer than ever.  I think it would be fair to say that we cast speculation upon what will happen, albeit some find it necessary to start unfounded rumours, but for the most part we think hypothetically. This being said, I've thought recently about something the band/axl could do that would just be fucking awesome. Keep in mind this is hypothetical and I have NO inside track.  I just think that when cd is released, there will of course be the huge sigh of relief just on that field, but also alot of unanswered questions left to be asked.  I've been thinking, how cool would it be for Axl just to sit down with a fan, a few fans for that matter, for an iin-depth nterview to shed light on the recording, re-construction of the band and any other issues he would be open to.  I think that when it all comes to light with the release that we the fans are still gonna be intrigued and have these questions to ask.  Who better to ask them?  I think that kurt loder gives a great interview, but what about a group of fans who know so much more about the band?  Dumb-ass questions will be brushed to the side in an interview such as this because alot of us already know the answeres that others would ask anyways.  I think given the right scenario, and right group of loyal fans-and by that I mean true GNR fans who have stuck through thick and thin to see this beast released, those who wouldn't criticize Axl or the band. only see there perspective openly, as some interviewers or the media would not.  This could give us the answers that would definitely put to rest some of the rampant rumours we are accustomed to. I just really think it would be cool of the band/Axl to show how much they truly care about the fans and us fans to show our support as well!  I'd like to here your input/ideas as well!

If you mean like a fan interview with Axl, yeah that would be great, but probably unlikely.

I think he would maybe do one or two feature interviews with the major publications like Rolling Stone etc, and leave it at that.

Sure, fans would have much more interesting questions to ask about specific songs etc that journalists wouldn't care about, and neither would most music fans.

People would be more interested in hearing about his personal life or when the last time he spoke to Slash was etc rather than whether we will ever hear a studio version of "Rhiad and the Bedouins" for instance.

That would be great, if a bunch of us were able to submit questions and someone like Jarmo could go to him for a face to face interview on behalf of all the fans.

I still say he should do a sit-down with Kurt Loder. He's always been a huge Axl fan and would ask the tough questions, but not so to turn it onto Axl. Another good choice would be Larry King. He's a great interviewer, and I'm sure he has no previous opinion on the situation, so it would definitely not be biased...

Do we always have to put Axl to the question?  It'd be cool just to let the man talk and say what he wants without the drill.

Axl probably would do an interview with fans because it would be really anoying and also some of the questions fans would ask Axl might think it's none of out business

Not with Axl, but it'd be cool for like Del James to round up a bunch of GNR fans and have a roundtable.

FABRICATI DIEM PUNC

« Reply #12 on: April 26, 2008, 07:50:04 AM »

I'd like to see something like the Axl/Del phone conversations published in RIP in the early '90s.  I would imagine that Axl feels comfortable enough with Del (and knows that he won't betray his trust) to open up to him more than with anyone else, and that this would make a good article or series of articles - possibly for the website.

Having said that, Kim Neely did an excellent job with the RS interview and if someone of that calibre could be found again, it would be a great read.

It's just my opinion, of course, and not a criticism of anyone, but I don't think that Axl would be likely to talk in-depth to a fan or group of fans - and honestly, I couldn't say that I'd blame him.  But maybe that's just 'cos I'm not the trusting type....   Wink

no man, i think it would be the opposite.. del has interviewed axl before (for rolling stone).. if a fan would have done the interview it would either be as you say an asskissing fest or it would be an uninformed fan who'd ask the wrong questions or didn't have the guts to ask the right ones, del and beta knows everything and most important axl, he trust them, they wouldn't be scared to ask any questions or anything

I don't think Del James or Beta would ask "the right questions". They know the questions Axl wants to avoid and they sure as hell wouldn't ask them. They've been loyal to Axl for many many years, why would they fuck that up?

they wouldn't fuck it up (u think axl would tell them to fuck of after 15/20+years?), i don't think axl wanna avoid any questions, beta said something along the lines that he'll tell the story when the time is right or something
