Hey all,

Thanks for help in advance.

Doing a project for school to find and analyze songs with 'heavy bass lines' or 'deep/dark sounding' rock songs. Thing is that they can't be metal. I knew that would be the easiest, but can't do it.

Some examples I've had so far that were given were;

Audioslave - Jewel of the Summertime
STP - Dead N' Bloated
Audioslave - Shape of things to Come

(teacher is a big STP & Audioslave fan, so somewhat biased)

Just looking for some examples from you guys to help out, thanks!

'heavy bass lines'

Bug Powder Dust  - Bomb the Bass: ok:

Climbatize - The Prodigy (it's an instrumental though - bass kicks in after 90 seconds or so)

Lots of songs by The Who - The Real Me for example.

thanks everyone, talked to my teacher yesterday and named some of your examples, without discussing your help...haha

He said to try to find more 'modern' stuff. Said he wanted more 90's-Now music instead of Sabbath and older bands.

more help is appreciated! beer

Janes Addiction have some seriously awesome basslines. Try there music.

Try the song Ozzy Osbourne-no more tears , thats 1990s and thats got great bass.

"Heavy bass lines?"

Uhm....if they don't have to be rock, how about "The Humpty Dance?" (embarrassed for saying that out loud).

As for "deep, dark sounding" rock songs, any track off "Boxer" by The National will do.  Out last year, so recent as well.
