When u go to concerts how do u act?

Do u sit in your seat the whole time?

Do u stand the whole time but sit for ballads?

Do sing a long?

Do u speak to strangers at the concert or stay to yourself?

My girlfriend always laughs at me, cause when we went to see VR, I made friends it seemed with everyone in my row.

So how do u act normally?

Give the rundown of a concert experience if I were sitting with u.

Depends on the concert, really.  I usually stand, but I've been to some shows with a very "sit down" crowd.

* Of course I'll venture out to talk with fellow fans of the band/group i'm seeing, we're all there for the event so we share a common interest right off the bat

*Stand for everysong - unless it's a solo / jam break (or a ballad i'm not fond of)

*Sing along with songs I know the words to (hate it when people who don't know the words try singing the entire song!) - also only if the majority crowd around me is singing; i'll sing (if i'm the only one singing in the bunch i tend to think that they want to hear the actuall artist sing so i just take in the performance then)

*Obvious lighters up to ballads that I like (fuck cell phones!)

* tend to just go nuts, headbang and throw the horns out and enjoy the show and have a good time -( i'm sure most can agree with this one)!

If it's something I'm really into like the Insitute concert i WENT to.... I am crazy and jump... and scream...

if its a sit down show , I hate when people stand up... it's annoying...

Blind Melon concert, I was 2 feet right center, stomach touching the stage... like 2 feet fromt he singer, and 3 feet from Rogers...

rocking the fuck out....

I try to make friends... but most people are rude.

Ive only been to one truly awesome concert.

That was a Prince concert about 6 years ago or so and I had front row.

Everyone was singing, dancing and going the fuck off and it was AWESOME! Security were letting chicks come into the space right in front of us front rowers and they were dancing and doin crazy shit while we were laughing and just having the best time.

Prince has a really complicated, rhythmically challenging verse in a song  called "The Joy of Repetition" me and this dude behind me glanced at one another and nailed it perfectly and were slappin hands and all kinds of goofy shit but at the time it was awesome.

we even exchanged emails! hihi

That and Velvet Revolver was awesome cause the people I was around were all rockin the fuck out so u could rock out and just have a great time.

Every other concert I get stuck with a bunch of "COOL" people who just pretty much stand and dont do shit. So u feel like an awkward dumbass if u sing a long, headbang or jump around.

Id love to finally get to another concert where the people around me are loose and awesome.

For most shows, I get front row.  That is achieved by standing in line for hours and hours.  I definitely meet a lot of cool people that way and we all become friends.  When they let us in, we all go down to the front and we all have a great time and take care of each other.

I don't think I've ever used my seat for some of the shows I have gone to.

And some people go to shows just to complain.  Not me.

I go to concerts to have a great time and support the artist(s) that I'm seeing.

i usually just scream and stand the whole time and yell out the guitarists name during songs i don't know the words to and if i do know them i'll sing along.

When i went to see Van Halen the lady in front of me wanted me to take her seet cause i was yelling so loud.

it pisses me off when i see people sit down unless its for the opening act becuase i think its disrespectful to the band you paid to see in the first place.

No shit

why would u pay hundreds of dollars to come to a show and not have a good time?

People act at concerts like they are watching some boring musical or some shit.

Uptight assholes is all I can say.

Some people are having a good time watching and listening to the show instead of throwing fists in the air and jumping....

What's truly disrespectful is things like talking, not taking into account those around you and things like that.

I went to see the Gutter Twins the other night. This tall guy was waving his hands around and hitting people with them for half the show. He was into the music, trying to get Mark Lanegan's attention the whole time.

But once Greg Dulli starts singing Amazing Grace solo, the guy thinks it's a good idea to start talking tot he girl he was with....

Wow...two very different answers to this thread. I have been to literally hundreds of shows, at one point going to about two or three a week for all different types of bands. I'm 23 now and when I go to a lot of shows I'm much more mellow compared to say sixteen. At sixteen I was always going nuts literally feet off the floor jumping, getting into mosh pits, crowd surfing all that jazz. Now at 23 I feel like the older guy at the show sometimes. I usually have a few beers, stay in one area but still movin to the muzak and I'm kinda savant like with remembering lyrics to songs after only hearing em once so unless it's something I've never heard before I'm singing along. Never ever sitting tho. I don't know what's up with that. Unless you're going to Mariah Carey concerts or something.

I agree with that jarmo, of course tall people in general suck

I got behind this outrageously tall kid at the Chili Peppers concert and it made the entire show suck ass.

I think there is a definitely a line that shouldnt be crossed.

I went to a Dwight Yoakam concert and this drunk asshole beside me kept tryin to talk to me and my girlfriend at the time the entire show and I was ready to bitch smack him.

It depends on my state of inebriation. If I'm just starting, I'm pretty rowdy. If trashed, I try to stand occasionally and mumble a few words.

  hihi hihi

Based on that statement, I think I might get a little embarrassed if I went to a concert with you! hihi

How do I act?  I'm on my feet the whole time, with hands in the air, singing along as much as I can (although not LOUDLY because that can irritate people around you - learned that lesson, once, when I realized everyone around me was looking at me kind of funny).

I totally love watching other people, at shows, though.  Especially while we're all waiting for the show to start.  Men are pretty subdued.  Women....there's always one or two who are standing up and dancing around, crazily, to the piped out music, waiting for the camera to get a shot that will be up on the screen.  There's always one or two, in front of me, who are barely dressed, who have to stand up and stretch and look around and flip their hair - just to make sure people around them actually notice them.

The guys - most are really cool.  However, some get way drunk and either have to stand RIGHT, literally, ass close, behind me and talk about their "tools" or end up getting into a drunken fight (which, if there's going to be a drunken fight,  I will somehow end up being right in the middle of it).

In the long run - every experience is great!
