I'm going to say what most people here are too scared to say: The only straw that would break the back is if Axl left the band. He has always been the heart and soul of Guns N' Roses, and as long as he's in it, it's Guns N' Roses and I'm gonna support it.

esteban, once again, you're blaming GN'R for "suggesting" things.

Robin "suggested" that he might not be back in April. Are you mad at him for that?

He was thrilled to go on tour with NIN without saying a word to the GN'R fans.

It just seems like you're blaming GN'R for not cleaning up the mess he left when he announced it.

Demanding GN'R to clear stuff up that they didn't start in the first place.

Just saying that's a lot of misplaced anger in my opinion.

/jarmo

I really, trully, bought the theory that said ''robin is just using the deadtime GNR currently has'' touring with NIN, like other bandmembers did.

And I've also bought the theory that said ''don't desperate! if he's gone for good, he or the band will make a statement clarifying this thing''

I'm mad at Robin in the first place. GNR fans have made a tremendous effort to accept him; ''another new axeman'' to fill Slash's boots. And now it seems he's not even capable of saying something, for good or bad, about his situation. After the ''Guns N' Robin'' update at GNR.com I understood that the problem here is Robin, not GNR.

But we are GNR fans. IF anyone has the responsability to inform the GNR fans, that's GNR and not Robin. If Robin's gone, that means he's not a GNR member anymore, and he has not any relation or compromise with GNR fans anymore, and the task should be reserved for the GNR management.

I dont demand anything. But IF there is someone who should inform the GNR fans, that's GNR. Gilby should not inform us about GNR because he's not a GNR member anymore. If Robin's not longer with GNR, it's not his responsability to inform us.

Jarmo: don't think for a second I've lost my excitement (which is in a tremedous level, trust me) or that I will not support the band anymore. But I think this is a pity. If Robin's gone, GNR has lost the perfect complement for Axl. I consider Robin 1291390821938 times greater than Slash, and we all know Axl/Slash made a historic couple in the world of rock. I think that says it all about my point of view.

Robin live is very entertaining.  I personally like his playing, and would love to see play with Gn'R.  However if your favorite player on a football team holds out or demands a trade.  Do you stop likeing the team ?

I really, trully, bought the theory that said ''robin is just using the deadtime GNR currently has'' touring with NIN, like other bandmembers did.

So did I.

But somewhere along the line when the album plans started shaping up and Robin said nothing, you had to start wondering.

But we are GNR fans. IF anyone has the responsability to inform the GNR fans, that's GNR and not Robin. If Robin's gone, that means he's not a GNR member anymore, and he has not any relation or compromise with GNR fans anymore, and the task should be reserved for the GNR management.

Well, you might see it that way.

I wouldn't be surprised if something is said when it has to be said.

The fact still remains, the guy who created this situation hasn't said a word to us. He said he was thrilled to play with NIN though...

Yeah unless there we pre arrangements that he would like, but its not sounding like there were.  To get up and just leave, kind of undermines his belief that the album was actually going to be released.

I dont know, who cares, we get CD in 10 days.

What would really be a dagger in the backs of all us GNR fans would be if Trent offered him more money and he left.

Come on, get fucking serious. Not that I know the truth behind this, but this kind of speculation is pointless.

He seemed happy in 06, he had to know CD was REALLY coming out. So why else would u leave unless it was for more money??

I can't think of a single reason in the world u would leave something like CD after all this time, right before its about to come out.

That is just odd.

It is kind of weird that Robin didn't say anything on his page.

It's also kind of sad that he'd leave now, right before the release of an album that he has been part of since 1997.

Sometimes this stuff is a matter of perception. Robin's perception is obviously different. The 2006 tour was better... but how about 2001 and 2002 when he would come to the front of the stage for a solo and get greeted with a chorus of "WE WANT SLASH!!!!!!!!!" and "WHERE'S SLASH?!?!??!?!"? Meanwhile, as pointed out by a previous poster, he's perceived as THE lead guitarist of NIN and is worshiped as such by that fanbase. That dichotomy may be what pulled him back to NIN permanently- notwithstanding his many years and apparent contributions to GN'R.

So his sense of what he owes or doesn't owe GN'R fans may be very different.

Here's one: In GN'R he's one of three guitar players.

Maybe that's not something he feels comfortable with?

Some guys prefer to play alone...

Yeah, it's pretty hard to understand, but until we hear something official, which we no doubt will at some point, be it from Robin or GN'R or both, I think speculation is pointless. Let's just wait and see. I believe that once CD is out (in 10 fucking days!) we will get some answers, as Axl and the band will surely be speaking to us.

I've lost a lot of respect for Robin. Several GnR fans are pissed at him. I'm really pissed, but if he wants to leave, fine... it's his loss. I love him and I want to see him on the next tour, but if he wants to leave AGAIN that's his fucking problem, not ours.

/jarmo

yeah, but he was ok for a decade though and 2 tours and all that......

I have the best theory of all and I think this is the TRUE reason.

Robin just like any musician and guitar player has an EGO.

Well, Axl released 3 songs from CD:

Shackler's for RB2 from a guy no longer in the band
If The World which features a guy no longer in the band
first single Chinese Democracy, once again, a song Robin had little help in writing

SO

Robin could've had hurt feelings, that his song "Better" wasn't chosen as a way to kick off the album.

that could've been one of the final straws and maybe he took it as a slap in the face like his material wasn't good enough to be released over 2 guys who aren't even in the band anymore.

Here u have a song "Better" thats gonna kick the naysayers asses and PROVE u are capable of being the lead guitar player of GNR and instead, your song is passed over, not once, or twice, but three times.

I admit, that would hurt my feelings.

Hell, oh Dave from VR was hurt when they didn't release Get Out The Door first as it should've been.

Jesus Christ, let the conspiracy theories unfold. Don't go completely overboard now. Time to call it a night when people start speculating about Robin's feelings.

Yeah seriously, U don't diss Axl.

Im shocked Axl let him back the first time.

well hell dude, it aint like he was 1000000 percent happy and said "AW what the fuck, I'll quit GNR today 7 months before the fruits of our labor is released.

NO

Something had to happen to push him over the edge.

writing a great song and not having it believed in enough could do that.

U don't fuck with a musician's ego.

Didn't he and Bucket sort of feud?

So imagine, his song being passed over twice for the dude he feuded with.

robin finck:  fuck you in the heart.  you are a judas traitor who betrayed one of the few great artists left in the world.   i hope trent reznor feels good  he broke up the next great rock combo beacuse he is a giant asshole.

i dont know how axl is going to replace him.  this sucks so bad.  i hope that they find another guitarist out there who can play all his parts.
