You know, I get that Robin's a free spirit and has dedicated a lot of his time to the making of this album and is currently committed to the NIN tour.   But FUCK!!! This is Chinese Democracy!! Pretty much the most anticipated rock album of all time.  How in the world do you walk away from that on the eve of it's unleashing.  And to add insult to injury, say NOTHING to his fans in GNR regarding his plans.  Just wow.

Here's my guess:

Robin had some down-time and went on tour with NIN. Now GN'R has their album coming out and maybe he's thinking about what to do. Maybe he isn't sure about his plans.

Could be.  Kinda makes you wish he'd have, you know, called the band and checked to make sure this would be a good idea.  Instead, we get a message on their site saying that everyone in Guns is aloof and has no idea what Robin's doing.  Nice.

Man, is this a sick relation between NIN and Guns n Roses or what? I mean, NIN influenced on things that hapenned with their breakdown in the 90s, and then Robin going back and forth along the bands, why don't they get together after all?   beer

I would love to see a NIN+GNR tour, so everybody would have their share of Axl, Trent and Robin! hihi

that would be a killer tour

so according to the countdown to chinese democracy podcast (or whatever the fuck it's called), it looks like robin's out, wonder if there's any truth to it?  probably all bullshit
I can't listen to the whole thing here, could you tell me exactly when they said that?

Edited: just heard about them hanging out with Robin. Nothing about him being out, tho. Where did you get that from?

There's a lot of people who don't want the guitarrist who ate the myth of Slash, so they spread shit like that.

i didn't spread it; the people on the podcast did-someone on another forum wrote out the highlights of the podcast-I would also wonder why a guy would spend 10 yrs on chinese democracy and then leave Undecided

Just read off NIN official site that Josh Freese is leaving the tour at the end of the year.

Didn't he put down some parts for cd?

Interesting.

axl wanted him deleted on some songs. probably all. i don't think we'll have josh, brain and frank on cd. but josh has been one of the best drummers out there for a while now. i really like his style.

well, all drums parts were re-recorded by Brain and Frank, then I don't think that Freese will be on the album

That's happened on the past (before southamerican dates came up). I wrote the webmaster asking if that was a lack of upload or if Robin won't play on that shows and he told me that it was a lack of upload so I think (I hope not) this is the same situation...

a mini update at robinfinck.com, with a GN'R pic or something indicating he's still in the band could be the perfect prelude to Chinese Democracy's release date announce at GNR.com

I have good chances of being the happpiest man on earth in... two days.

GNR's world is fascinating. I should be sick/tired of waiting in vain, but reality says I'm happy and more excited than ever  beer

Personally... I suspect Robin wouldn't have been swayed by more vague promises that Chinese Democracy was "approaching the landing pad" or whatever....

That said- you would have to think the events in the world of GN'R of the last several weeks would have most definitely caught his attention.

Just speculating, but Robin has had a 10 day break from the NIN-tour now. At the same time RollingStone reported that a GN'R music video is in the works. That should have left plenty of time for him to film his parts, but this is just me crossing my fingers for him to still be with Axl & co.
