Paul Huge, Gary Sunshine and Dave Navarro appear on the song as well as Robin Finck.
Robin's part was written by Paul and extensively manipulated
by our producer, Sean Beaven. Robin was not involved in the writing of the final recording though did participate in the arrangement. - axl.
looks like it's not only forum members who take shots at him...
bs.
That's a part of the press release for oh my god and axl is saying robin plays on the song.
By contraries, I read somewhere that Robin said he didn't. is it true?
How can it be a dig?
I've read that as well. I think its just a case of Robin not being able to identify any parts that are his on the track. If Axl says he used a recording of Finck and 'manipulated' it then I believe him. I think he'd be the one to know these things, of all people.

Nice cheap shot porn boy
1st: I wouldnt join an already famous band if I were asked cause I think its a shortcut and Lame to piggyback off another musician's career
any musician will tell u, that learning some tabs or having some dude show u how to play something and WRITING something of your own are two entirely different beasts that are nowhere near the same level.
2nd: U give me a room full of instruments in a studio and u give Robin those same instruments in a studio and I guarantee I write \better songs cause I am a better "overall" musician than this clown. The only thing he does better than me on a guitar is play other people's shit.
I never wanted to say anything like this, but u made this shit personal so Im gonna be honest about it. I think a guitar player in GNR should at least be WAY better than I am. This guy should be on myspace cause he has had how many years in the industry and he has written how many more hits than me? NONE
The GNR guitar player has wrote as many hits as u.
The kid on MSG 2002 sums it up best when screaming at Robin "My little brother plays better than U"
U let Axl sing over my riffs and u would be sucking my dick on here guaranteed.
dude go hear some bon jovi and jack off.. maybe lite some candles too
you need to relax.. you are in the insane zone..
comparing yourself with robin.. that is the same league than "crack is whack"
i dont wanna sound like a bad boy.. but i have heard your stuff and it sucks.. (sorry)
axl invited robin because he knew he is the same league as slash, he will ad the project that extra bit that makes it awesome (and we have heard it too)
slash is an hero and a legend..
im sure robin will be..

I mean, its quiet humourous when all the so -called "gnr fans' are with robin when hes in gnr,
but the second hes position in the band is questionable we bash him and down his ability,
all? look carefully actually there aren't so many such humorous ones. only a few. polly they want their friend /themselves in GNR or something.
most of us like Robin.
I doubt the bashers ever appreciated robin. they won't miss an opportunity like this.

He doesn't suck. What the fuck have you done? Let's hear your music.
Yeah, Robin isn't bad but he isn't the greatest. Don't get me wrong, I like his solos on the new material. I bet some people on this board are as skilled as him. Not as famous, and maybe not as good of a writer but skill-wise. But if he did leave, then it wouldn't be as hard to replace him as if it were Ron.

D, I think your problem with Finck ultimately stems from clowns like JimBob, who completely disrespect and disregard Slash.
You may not like Fincks style or the way he interprets the old gnr material but to say he has no talent is insane.
First and foremost he wouldnt be in GNR if he didnt have talent. WHy would Axl want him in the band if he brought nothing?
Second, we have nothing to judge him on yet. Not his fault. And its probably one of the reasons why he is with NIN at the moment. So I completely understand if you want to have a wait and see approach with Finck. But to completely dismiss him is not fair. Let his work be heard first. Dont be ignorant like all the Slash haters.
Third, the only song that we have to judge him on so far is Better. Out of the songs we have heard, Better is by far the best single. Not only that, its an amazing song. I would put Better up with any GNR rocker.
Is Finck the best guitarist ever? Absolutely not. But if he adds to Axls musical vision then the guy has something to offer. He has played with GNR and NIN basically his whole career. He is highly regarded. Its not his fault that Axl wants to do AFD tours. Hes been waiting to play his material just like we have been waiting to hear the material.

Not fair to leave D's post and delete my answer when he was the one disrespecting a member.
Anyways, it's awesome how no matter what Robin does (or write), he's always having to prove himself for some of so called "fans" here. It doesn't matter if he wrote The Blues solo or Better, it's never enough. Amazing.

I wish I "sucked" at playing the guitar so much that Axl Rose and Trent Reznor wanted me to play in their bands
Finck has a different type of style but anyone ignorant enough to think he sucks when two of the greatest rock n' roll minds of the past 25 years want to work with him needs to re-evaluate things
He is not an amazing "technical" player but he adds a great deal to GnR from a live show and songwriting perspective, anyone who went to a 2006 or 2007 live show will attest to his presence, and he wrote the music for Better FFS. In case you missed it, Finck's role in GnR isn't supposed to be a technical wizard. All 3 guitarists are there because they bring different attributes to the band, what Robin brings to the table is a very unique style of playing and great stage presence
I mean Axl and Trent could probably to to Guitar Center and find the guy who can play every Van Halen and Megadeth (or Slash) song note for note but who doesn't have a lick of originality or individuality. Those type of guys are a dime a dozen. Robin has a type of individuality that the average guy who sits in his garage playing old Aerosmith and Guns and Van Halen songs note for note never will

Yeah but all those guyswrote some of the most legendary, amazing, memorable all time great riffs/solos in music history.
So there is definitely a difference in their sloppy and Robin's sloppy.
dude, you make no fucking sense at all.. as usual.
what is the connection to writing songs and performing music live? THERE ISN'T ANY! Robin is not sloppy, he is one of the best guitar players in the business. That is why he is sought out by guys like Trent and Axl and you are posting your songs on your myspace page.

Robin pisses all over you, you cant sing, your timing is way off and the tone is nasty.

According to 9inchnails.com a poster there named Tim has said Robin isn't coming back to GnR. I don't know how credible that is so take it for what its worth.
