I would want Robin to just come out and say whether he is still a part of Guns or if he is now a full time member of nine inch nails. But maybe he isn't sure what he wants to do yet in terms of his future.

its not a choice he needs to make until it comes time to tour!  its premature to say "he's gone" like its a fact.

You'd think every relevant member in GNR camp from Axl to managers wants to know who is in the band or who isnt well before  "it comes time to tour"

It's incredible Finck still hadn't given a single comment about any of this yet Grin
I suppose he has learned PR from the best.

^As far as i know, Robin hasn't won a grammy with NIN so i'm not sure myself....

1996.. Nine Inch Nails won a grammy for their performance of for "Happiness in Slavery" on the Woodstock 94 compilation album.

Yeah, but did Robin actually win a Grammy?  He is not legally a member of NIN, he is a hired band member for touring purposes and some recording work, but no songwriting.  Is he therefore entitled to a Grammy if NIN wins one?  I don't know for sure, but I'm inclined to say it's more likely "no" than it is for a true band situation.

Ali

the band won the grammy, it was a live performance, robin was a part of that performance.

Nine Inch Nails is not a band.  It never has been and it never will be.  Nine Inch Nails is Trent Reznor, period.  Just because NIN won a Grammy, that does not mean that Robin Finck took home a Grammy.  Not that he didn't deserve to.

Ali

Yeah! You're rigth Ali, robin never won anything! ok

if gnr wins a grammy who do you think will take it home?

Axl owns the GnR name so i imagine that he would also own the trophy for any awards they may win...GnR is no longer a partnership

All i'm saying is that all GNR members are on to their own things now, rob included.

There may be reasons for it, and sometimes, it's best they stayed obscure.

but you can't dispute his involvement in the performance that won a grammy, whether you like it or not.

You probably nailed it on the head. Personally, I think it is over.

Hmmm, food for thought, but I don't think that the Grammys work like that.

Regarding the latter, dispute it with facts, not not hyperbole, or anecdotes.

it wasn't over last time he toured with NIN.  And that time it was announced he was officially out of the band.

I guess Robin knows the score - He is a hired hand. He records with two massive bands. He plays live with two massive bands. I guess its a world first for one guitarist to be apart of two of the worlds biggest bands at the same time, and chop n'change between the two. Should one band out perform the other, then what?

Honestly I don't think GnR is gonna tour this year !! will they put out the album ? Yes !! so what does Robin half to do in that period of time NOTHING !! Guns shoot's a music video he will half to be there and maybe for a couple of promotional stuff ( I think Axl will do the majority with and without some of the members).  Either way you look at it yeah everyone was caught off guard but in the long run Robin is still a member of Guns N' Roses.

Considering the band doesn't even know what he's up to, things don't look to good in my opinion.

they know he'll play with NIN late summer, the bands first priority is to get the album out this year, they'll worry about other stuff after that

things doesn't look either good or bad IMO, it's as it always has been, but since the release is in negotiatons it's a bit better Smiley
