I never knew Robin played on the GN'R single Oh My God
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Finck

Both Buckethead and Robin played on the Ghosts of Mars.
Do they perform on the same track or different tracks to each other?

yes he does play on OMG. altough after Robin's departure to NIN, Axl got mad and deleted Robin's parts, Robin said he actually plays on the song. oh, or vice versa, I don't remember the story exactly.

about Ghosts of Mars, you can see the tracklist here http://www.theofficialjohncarpenter.com/pages/themovies/gm/gmstrk.html - they play together on track 2 (pretty good one imho)

It's funny you should mention that. I was wondering the exact same thing this morning.

What I'm worried about is whether or not my favorite guitarist of the lineup has left the band.

What's up, everybody? Long time gunner fan - first time poster. Nice board you have here - to whomever deserves the kudos.

On topic - If Robin left the band for good, I say we're better off without him. He was damn lucky to have been given the opportunity that Axl gave him - and if he doesn't recognize that - adios amigo. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out. ok If the album is in fact complete, I definitely don't see any reason at all to worry. If I were Axl, and planning to kick off a Chinese Democracy 2008 Tour, I'd give Izzy a call and ask him to fill in for Robin. That would be some cool shit.    Cheesy

^ That would be cool, but Izzy dont like touring. I think Robin will be back, He'll tour with NIN over Summer, earn some dough then probably rejoin GNR in October ready for CD at Christmas.  ok

To me, RO B IN> izzy

wake up peeps.
Has Robin ever said He's thrilled to announce that blah+ dates with regard to GNR?
I regarded NIN as his thing but I was wrong. Apparently GNR is his thing as well as Led ZAerial!

I just can't see Robin walking away from GNR. He sounds like he had a lot of influence over the songwriting on CD.

dear friends,
i want to make this opportunity to comment on gnr's recent withdrawal
from the rock-in-lisbon festival. i was disappointed, as were the lot
of us, to come to grips that we won't be performing there as
anticipated. my bags have been packed for some time awaiting such an
event. i'm chomping at the bit to get out and really shake things up
with gnr and look forward to the release of the new album and
ultimately to tour and to tour.
  'til then - love, r ob i        n

this is robin on RIR cancellation. "dear friends", You have no idea how much this short letter meant to me.

I guess whatever Robin's decision r.e. his future in GNR, he's got to go with his muse and ambitions rather than worry about what us fans think. If he is leaving, hopefully we'll get another note and hear his side, even if it is a 'Dear John' rather than a 'Dear Friends'.

WTF does the price of tea in China today have to do with Robin??

and another one

"I'm writing now in the wake of the recently postponed and cancelled GNR commitments in Japan and South Africa. I guess I'm writing because I too am disappointed, have a conscience, a website, and I am not on the Bullet Train to Osaka this evening.

I purely want to share with those whom were avid for seeing GNR at these concerts that I too was looking forward to seeing you all. The band was primed and pumped, production packed and shipped. Then, much to our distress, unforeseen circumstance walked in, dropped its surly case and announced with certainty, "I'm here! ". What can we do.

I have received innumerable emails from real people who where hooking up with friends or family, flying to faraway cities, booking hotels or friend's couches, docking the USS Kitty Hawk, and otherwise scheduling their time and enthusiasm around these events. In short, these peeps wuz straight stung adrenalized and lettin' me square have it! I too was psyched about the shows, planning to meet friends and family, watch the cherry blossom blossom etc. It is my wish that your bounce forward from here be one of a willful arc and opportunity. Believe me, I'm swallowing that very pill by your side.

Well, I'm not gonna go on with this letter, this letter to you who've sent me. I think you catch my drift.

Best of spirits to you all and I sincerely wish for you a successful trip ahead. Have fun wherever you are-

r ob i         n"

surely he must love both GNR fans and NIN fans but if you can't see the difference between this letter and a courteous  one, you're emotionally retarded.

Here's a clue for you, sweetie, cause obviously you don't have one.

Robin hasn't said shit yet to GNR fans about him touring with NIN.  Instead he let Trent spit in our faces by letting him announce it.

Where's his conscience now?
