Hm...there are such things as inaccuracies, misinformation, etc. Just because they wrote the article doesn't mean they're a massive GN'R fan that's close to the camp and knows whats going on, so they don't think about things like that when writing it.

What would happen if a fan, journalist etc actually contacted Guns N' Roses or management for some conformation? Do you just get silence?

I agree.  Us GN'R fans are an unusually passionate bunch.  We've waited so many years and kept up such passion for a band in which all but the lead singer has been replaced.  You would think they would throw us a bone here and provide some clarity into the Robin situation.  Maybe things are up in the air right now in which case I understand not making a statement, however the right thing would be to give us an answer as soon as possible.

Exactly. I swear I read 1 article a week or so where it says "Slash, Duff McKagan and/or Matt Sorum of Guns N' Roses...."

A lot of sloppy journalism and PR folks out there unfortunately. Until you hear something from Axl, Robin or management directly... I think it's safest to just assume that despite these significant and impending NIN obligations... Robin is still very much a part of GN'R.
