What's confusing most GNR fans is : we get positive support from Dr. Pepper, a new management team, updates from Axl, which is all great stuff.   BUT now we have the lead guitarist of the band going on tour with a major band.

GNR will go on, ,regardless.  But its just confusing to most how you can such positive media, then the longest member since Axl re-started GNR leave to tour with another band.

Well after reading 22 pages of this I decided to reply, anyway we really don't don't know anything(as many people have pointed out). Will I be sad if Robin leaves the band,no,was I sad when the "original" band broke up,no,because things happen and sometimes it's for the best.We should all just calm down and wait for some word on the situation. smoking

come on people we just got two annoucements in a span of two days !!! and if Robin were leaving the band im sure they would of said something about that in their management announcement last week.  Guns N Roses and Axl Rose are managed by Azoff and Gould now if I remember correctly Robin is in Guns N' Roses right Huh don't hold your breathe for a annoucement you won't get one cause there's nothing to announce about Robin.

have stated GNR is a band.
how can this current lineup be a band f 3 of their main pieces....particularly Robin are gone?

How can Mets be a team when Piazza isn't there?

A band is a group of people. It doesn't stop being a band if you replace one member of that band.

It's not the same exact line up, but it's still a band.

Different thing.

Tommy wasn't leaving.

So you guys think a band stops existing when somebody decides to leave. I see.....

Why are you here? Didn't GN'R stop existing in 1990? Oh wait, you stuck around. I wonder why? Maybe your theory is bullshit....

Maiden even continued when they changed the singer, a lot of bands do continue.

I can't believe that we are already discussing these things although we don't have any confirmed information about this.
I personally hope he is still in the band.

Let's see what the future brings. As long as there is Guns n' Roses, I will be a loyal fan.
They don't owe us shit, therefore I am greatful with everything they will give us.

So much for Trent's Robin-bashing a couple years ago.  Referring to his guitarist at the time saying he didn't fill Robin's shoes but rather "pissed on them and kicked them out the door, effectively closing a chapter."

Guess it's time for a new entry in the book of NIN.  Glad they buried the hatchet, or at least Trent getting over the fact that Robin's full time job is with GN'R.

In your own opinion do you think Robin is leaving?

Or would you rather not say until we know for sure?

Totally superficial, I know, but I hope Robin doesn't revert back to the circus-like, Goth look with NIN.   And if he does, I hope the looks stays with NIN if and when he next appears with Guns...

(now that we're 22 pages in, I thought it would be a nice change of pace to speculate about Robin's wardrobe instead of his band loyalties   hihi)   I think it's time to wait for an official statement, one way or the other...

I think this thread needs a group hug.

I like Robin but 22 pages and so on of us ranting isn't going to change whatever decisions have already been made.

We all just need to relax and wait for information.

There's no "for sure" until somebody says something about the plans.

Jarmo, you are posting like Robin already left?  Huh

No.

I'm responding to all those who seem to think a band ends when a member leaves.

They are saying GN'R isn't a band if Robin leaves, I'm disagreeing with that.

gotcha.   I'm sure GnR could continue without him, but I hope he's still in the picture.     Robin will do what he wants to do of course, he's a free spirit.

Guns N' Fuckin Roses baby

I think theres a lot reading into this. I love Robin and hope that he's not gone.  I find it hard to believe after him giving all of this time and talent that it would be over now with the perpetual ball finally seeming to roll.  I mean for fuck sakes give the man credit, he wrote better didn't he? jesus that song still gives me quivers of how bad ass it is.  I firmly believe he is still in until otherwise noted.  I'm glad he is part of the album and guns n' roses for all we know.  He has had a firm place in the band for the better part of going on 10 years.  I really think his stage presence has grown tremendously during this time and I love his skills.  I hope he sees it through with gn'r (which I think he will) because he has shown a vast amount of commitment which I find to be very respectable.  ok

I want Robin to be in the picture, too.  Very much so.  I don't think he's just any old guitar player that can be easily replaced.  But, at the same time, you have to look at the bigger picture as well.  I don't want GN'R to die and I think anyone would think that GN'R should not move forward is being short-sighted.  GN'R should continue with or without him.  Hopefully with him.
