GNR's next lead guitarist

GNR members come and go. It's more like a sports team than a band. The personel might change but the name and the fans remain. I'm just waiting for Axl to kick himself out of the band and find a younger singer to take his place.

Ehm. How can some of you be so blind about the nin.com entry?

As thesloth clearly already stated, it is an punch on "the biggest things" going on now and he TRIES to crack a joke that their nin.com update is bigger than those, get it?
Already you guys go to personal insults and how the reason why Robin left was Trent? what-the-hell?

Revolving door. Fans & Trent accept that.

Yeah, NIN is different in that it's always been about Trent Reznor. It's the same with, say, Oasis. It will always be Oasis as long as the Gallagher brothers are there even though they nearly get through as many line-up changes as Axl (well, that might be untrue as their drummers are never seen as part of the official line-up now). Neither have ever had a figure as huge and downright legendary as Slash in the line-up to get by without. You could bring back Duff and Izzy, but the naysayers still wouldn't be having it.

This is posted on NIN main page

http://nin.com/

"Forget Twilight or Chinese Geography or 808s and Constipates or whatever else you may be wasting your time on... we've added some kick-ass new features to nin.com that may or may not work properly, so head on in and get busy!"

Kind of disrespectful to diss something one of your band mambers has devoted a huge part of his life to over the last 10 years.

Just goes to show how selfish Reznor is.....but i guess fink dosnt have to worry about making efforts like that anymore because Reznor wouldnt dream of letting someone else have any imput on a NIN record.

Robin get your shit together and get back in the Ring...wanna see you kill that solo in This i love Live.

It was a joke he picked the 3 top pop culture things going on which is the movie Twilight Gnr's new CD and Kayne West.

Also NIN and is the first major band to truly go indie.  Other bands talk about it and do half assed stuff but NIN has done it.  They have no management no label ect.

The sad part is the tour which should be a huge success is not simply because he does not have a HUGE marketing company behind him like Kayne West, ACDC ect.

The fact is 5-10-20 years from now NIN's Lights in the Sky Tour will be hailed as one of the most amazing rock shows ever created.  All of the effects ussed are real time interaction ect.

Hate to burst your bubble but NIN are not the first major band to go indy

prince has been doing this shit since 1998

Tobias is the biggest contributor on CD. He hasn't been in the band for about 7 or 8 years now. His photo isn't even in the booklet.

Robin has had a great impact with GNR also, not only his lead guitar playing but also as a part of their shows.

Tobias left but GNR still moved on and became an even better band.

If Robin definitely isn't coming back, that would be a real shame considering what a part he has been of GNR, but the album's come out now. Axl's got a band of great players. A world tour for the album is impending. Robin or not, they're going to work it out and get back out there and take the world.

Whatever happens though, I'm greatful to Robin since he was one of the main reasons why my interest in persuing GNR returned after I found out he had joined in the late 90s.

Otherwise, I'm not too concerned about widgets or subtle references from Trent or anything like that.

NIN.com say's they will be posting 2009 tour dates soon.  If GnR start touring in of January its pretty much no Robin, which is unfortunate but hey he might join them on some leg's of the tour ( hopefully US) I guess we will find out sooner than later.

Hey just a question, is Brain still the drummer? He isn't listed as a band member on their myspace page.

I think Robin is a fantastic guitar player, one of the best...BUT I'm just not a fan. I would rather see Bumble alone as lead guitarist... or bring Mr. Slash back. I always had the feeling that Bucket's and Robin don't fit in GN'R...this is just my opnion so don't shoot me. It's a feeling... They are both very good guitar players but I just don't have it for them.

well, they do fit now, considering they are both key forces on the latest Guns N' Roses album.

I don't see what you mean. Bucket's work is predominant on all of the record, as is Robin's, along with Brain's drumming. One couldnt listen to the album without their recording being a part of it. If you like Chinese Democracy, and like listening to anything more than an Axl acapella, then you must be fan of them too.
