Maybe this thread should be locked pending further information. I mean, the press release from the GN'R camp is all we're going to get now. Hell, people are reading into posts on the NIN site for fucks sake.

the way I see it, its not an issue until the band is needed for a tour.   At this point, thats still up in the air, and Robin is free to do what he is doing, just as the rest of the band is doing their own things.

the question remains,
could gnr tour without Robin, and would they leave a time gap for robin to make his mind up before the deadline when they start touring again,
cause dispite what some may think about robin, He is definetly needed live, both stage prescence, and yes... Technically...

I would say Robin is 80% gone and Tommy about 60%.

Just my opinion.

Are you serious?

I would say Robin is 80% gone and Tommy about 60%.

Stop spreading bullshit.

Robin is "gone playing with NIN".

I know what you're doing. You're playing the "but I told you so in April" game.

If Robin is unavailable to take part in any GN'R activities in the future, you'll be there saying how you knew it.

Just because Tommy is talking about the Replacement doesn't mean he's leaving GN'R.

no, it's time to release chinese democracy, making promotion with interviews, spreading the first single and the video.

Axl doesn't need the band to do the promo, so they can do their things, waiting for the next world tour.

You don't need the whole band in one place for all interviews.

GN'R also managed to make videos when Izzy was in the band in 1991 without him taking part in the making of them.

After he left, they used Gilby for the videos.

Like it or not, mainstream media will only be interested in Axl, he's smart in not doing any press hardly at all--I would think he has an interesting story to tell, and will probably be on the cover of Rolling Stone, Blender

Jarmo, that hurts my feelings...... crying

I was just guessing.  I don't know shit.  I think Axl got a little pissed about this and would not be surprised if he replaced his ass.

My 60% guess for Tommy is that if him and Paul get writing juices flowing again, he may stay there pending reuniting.  I think I gave modest percentages.  Sorry for thinking outside the box.

Outside the box?

You're in a very dark box where the worst is always assumed no matter what.

The interviews say that they were considering doing some festival dates and a few headlining shows on each coast, but now it's not happening.

Tommy's been recording stuff for movies and TV for a while now.

I thought an article came out again, today, talking about how they would love to do the shows and write. Am I wrong?

One article mentioned Coachella. The festival is this coming weekend.

I got the impression they were thinking about it, but decided not to.

Besides, if Tommy played with his old band when GN'R had nothing planned, I'm sure he could.

Jarmo, I just reread the article from today that Funky Monkey posted.  Tommy wants it more than Paul.  Paul said he would be more up for it after the 4 reissues come out.  Who knows......

Van Halen - Reunited
Led Zepp - Reunited for a show at least
The Police - Reunited
STP - Reunited

The Replacements? - Thinking about it.

Paul's said he doesn't want to do it without Chris Mars who definitely doesn't want to so, it sure seems unlikely.
