Is it being sponsored by Dr. Pepper?

I should hope so - can't see why not.

Oh and if you go to the link provided by Jonx in the first post you can leave your comments and memories about the album and the first time you heard it.  There's some heartwarming stuff there and I don't mean just my story.   hihi

Kinda makes you wonder 'why now?', but then again, why the hell not.

Be nice to have some decent music on BBC Radio 1 for a change.

You're right there.  I'm more of a Radio 4 or Radio 2 listener these days - not sure I even remember where to find Radio 1!   Grin

Last time I listened, I think Mary Anne Hobbs was still doing the Rock Show!   Shocked

They did a week of 'masterpieces' shows not so long ago. They played one classic album a night from start to finish (Led Zep 4 was one of them), I was surprised at the time AFD wasn't one of them as I know the host of this show (Zane Lowe) is massive fan of AFD, it seems he's managed to get it included this time round.

If I want to listen to AFD, I pop in the CD... why wait for some radio station to play it in full  peace

And it's not like this album needs promotion, lol  ok

They say they're gonna have interviews from the band, and/or other bands the album may have influenced.  So they're not gonna just play the CD from beginning to end with no interruption.

Why be so negative my man? Of course we could all put Appetite into our CD player if we want to listen. I have been doing that since 1987. But it's nice to see the album getting some exposure again on national radio and with the potential for some old interviews, the thoughts of fellow musicians and fans etc it should be a good listen!

Enjoy listening to your CD!!

I got a new alarm clock 2 years ago, one of those that can wake you up with a CD playing.  Well suffice to say, I've woken up to AFD ever since (on weekdays at least).  There's nothing quite like being woken up by Axl's scream.

I've got it set to record tonight but I have no idea how to convert it from my Sirius to my archaic 7 year old PC to share with the public.  My cpu rejects my Sirius as it is and whenever I've tried to hook it up in the past has had some negative results to say the least.

You know that you can listen online, don't you?  Also, the BBC have an On Demand/Listen Again option where the programme is available to listen to for 7 days after the broadcast.  If you follow the link in the first post, it'll take you to the BBC site.

But it's nice to see the album getting some exposure again on national radio and with the potential for some old interviews, the thoughts of fellow musicians and fans etc it should be a good listen!

I agree with you, Mike, it should be fun for those of us who already love the band, and hopefully will introduce some new people to the songs as well.  I know that the show is primarily a look back at a classic album but I do hope that they are able to include an element of positive anticipation about the forthcoming release of CD as well.
