Congrats to gnr and the new management team! beer

Good news two days in a row

Who was managing the band since the parted ways with Merck?

Good to know they've got a respected team to guide them into the future now.  Full speed ahead!

Beta did the job i believe.
I thought she was Axl's personal assistant.

I thought axl did the job with the assistance of beta.

hope they'll do a better job than for VR...

VR have many problems, their management is NOT one of them...

What is the role of management?  They don't book shows do they?  Are they the agent that brokers deals with touring companies and record companies?  Do they make sure the band is taken care of?  Do they make decisions for the band, or is that all Axl?  Do they handle promotion and help select first single?  Do they make sure Axl has sushi in dressing room?

Well, yes it can be all of that and more, but its up the band really....some bands have their management run their lives, other bands will have management just to kinda be there

It would be nice to know what management for GNR actually does.

I would say that's more of a record company issue as opposed to management.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_manager

That doesn't explain GN'R specifically, but gives you an idea of what a manager does, or can do, for an artist.

sure, but if i managed some artists and saw that the record company didn't do
anything good for my band, i probably do something to change this state of fact.

Sure, I see what you're saying.  But management can only do so much if the record company isn't behind an album.  And if the material on the album is kind of weak, there's only so much anyone can do.

Since Merk has no longer been part of the "Family" I have patiently been waiting for this announcment. Finally it is here! I think this is very, very positive. It's been a great 2 days, that's for sure.

Cheers

now all they need is a new song leaked, a guitar player replacement and we got a new tour

since my previous post got misteriously deleted by the powers that be.

They have been on many famous Late Night Shows (best promotion for any band), all Music stations from TV to Radio, many magazines, they did a live special on MySpace , etc etc etc... then Slash went on a long mediavvhore campaign about his book, Guitar Hero 3 and signature guitars which he still on, it was all over the place.

Yet the album was flushed down the toilet by fans... not because of lack of promotion but because of lack of quality  ok

And MeanBone, get over it  peace

i don't mean it like that, it's nothing more that a joke on how we got the previous tour and how we're here now with something in common.

If anything i love this band, more than any previous member, but i didn't mean it as disrespect to Rich, Robin nor Bumble in way...

Just a giggle... sure humour can be questioned and what strikes me as funny may seem downright stupid to someone else, but it wasn't meant to be analized so deeply!

well i'm sorry if i offended anyone with that post, it really wasn't my idea of fun to that.

cheers and carry on the good work
