Dr. Pepper goes well with whiskey.  DP and SoCo 100 is a great drink, but dangerous

The abbreviation of Southern Comfort to 'SoCo' makes me want to throw up. Maybe I'm just not 'cool', hehe.  hihi

It's just what everyone calls it in the US, no different than using Coke instead of Coca-Cola.  But from now on I'll call it Southern Comfort on HTGTH so I don't make you throw up greendog  Grin

Why thank you kind Sir  peace  hihi

CHINESE Democracy Is Eco-Friendl

It's a well-known scientific fact that every time Axl Rose hits a high note, a glacier is formed. Notice how glacier decline progressed rapidly between 1994 and 2000; that's because Axl wasn't hitting the high notes then. Now his awesome voice is back and thus, the world is safe. Chinese Democracy is more than just an album, it's the only hope for out planet.

Of course, mother earth's at stake! It's all in the hands of Axl now...   smoking

This must be the clearest case of a win-win situation in history.

Dr. Pepper plans to keep its promise

by Elizabeth Bromstein
Dr. Pepper has confirmed that it does indeed plan to make good on its "Dr. Pepper for all" promise upon the release of Guns N' Roses' 'Chinese Democracy.'

In March, the makers of the delicious soft drink (my favourite) Dr. Pepper announced it would give every man, woman and child in the U.S. a free can of soda pop if Guns N' Roses managed to release the over-a-decade-in-the-making LP Chinese Democracy before the end of 2008. At the time it looked like a promise they'd never have to keep and a clever marketing gambit but now it's looking like they might have to make with the free pop.

Recently an exclusive deal with Best Buy and a November 25th release date were announced for Chinese Democracy. I'm not convinced -- Axl, the band's label and the band's management have yet to confirm anything, apparently -- but if this thing does happen, MTV reports that Dr. Pepper plans to make good.

Not that it applies to us as Canadians (or to former GnR guitarists Slash and Buckethead, who are excluded from the promise) but I for one have been wondering about the logistics of the plan ever since it was announced. There are over 300 million people in the United States. How would you go about executing something like giving them each a can of pop? Apparently it's not that complicated. MTV says,

"According to a spokesperson for the company, full details of Dr Pepper's rollout plan won't be released until Guns N' Roses go on the record about the release date, despite the fact that Best Buy has already begun taking online preorders for the disc. Best Buy will be the sole retail purveyor of the set, as part of an exclusive deal announced late last month...

"...The Dr Pepper spokesperson told MTV News that, while additional details will be forthcoming, the company's plan to distribute free cans of its product will involve some sort of an online coupon system. 'People will go on Dr Pepper's Web site and we will send them a coupon for a free one,' the spokesperson confirmed. 'It's going to be real easy.'"

"A coupon will be available for download from the Dr Pepper site from the release date of the album. You will need to log into the site, print out the coupon and then take it in to a store to redeem you free drink."

I'm a bonehead, didn't notice that resemblence.

It's coming and it's perfect, it's all going to be perfect!
