I am not a huge fan of Scott Weiland..but who could blame him for leaving....How many times a day does someone have to ask him a Guns N Roses related question??  Serioulsy I wouldnt want to put up with that shit for very long either.any singer Slash and Duff work with is going to get the same shit...most of it generated by the fans and the media.....I saw a recent pic of STP and he looked WAY more at home....

I have to agree with you madgas.  After reading his plethora of incomplete sentences, I don't think he's that smart.   confused

Or sounds like a guy who's led a priveledged life and is trying to stay positive in tough situation.

He's a respected guy among his peers, I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about his playing from anyone in the industry.

I've met and spoke with him on a few occassions in his Cult days and was the farthest thing from an "assclown".  Very thoughtful and well read, a great story teller and always asked me more questions about me than I of him.

Sounds more like he's getting rid of them.

Could be, either way I don't really care. I think they are better off without him...

Yeah that's bullshit, Think he's just blindly repeating what he reads on other boards.
He's referring to this interview I believe:

"?This is pretty much the last time we?ll tour the Libertad record,? added McKagan, referencing last year?s second VR release. ?It?s always good to end a tour cycle on the upswing and that?s guaranteed with the theatre shows in the UK. The people who are paying to see us this time around are pretty much the hardcore fans. It?s a great way to end a tour and head into a new writing cycle for the third album."

no i never said that...it is a problem that they can't fix...Slash said that was the reason it took to 2003 to even start working together again was because of the obvious "gnr connection"....they were in the biggest band in the world at one time....there is no way of avoiding the GNR thing....especially without "Chinese Democracy" out...there are alot of people who dont even think that record will happen so they hold on to hope of the old line-up getting back together....once CD comes out I think it will help certain fans move on

If true, I am surprised how fast this fell apart, but the writing was on the wall once Scott made plans to reunite with STP.

I never thought this band would live and die before certain events transpired, but this will no doubt heat up reconciliation rumors.

everything started going downhill for them on July 28th, 2007 when the 20th anniversary show of appetite for destruction was held.Scott was not happy with his VR mates participating(hence why the cat in the hat did not play). I'd imagine that could have helped him decide to do the STP thing as well.

Thank god they're finally getting rid of that piece of trash, I've pretty much had it with his "badass" routine Roll Eyes

Sounds more like he's getting rid of them.

Duff said this in an interview dated March 20th...

"Scott is great," says Duff. "It was destiny that the five of us should come together - at least it felt that way when Scott walked into the room and sang his first line with us. It was like, There it is'.

"There is an unspoken thing with him and us. It is almost as if he's led a parallel life to the rest of us."

Earlier this year there were reports that Scott had voluntarily gone into rehab, causing a Velvet Revolver tour of Australia to be cancelled.

"It is a brutal thing, addiction, and I should know," says Duff. "You just hope - you can't say anything for sure. I think he'll be fine."

no everything started going downhill when Slash started showing up to Axl's house drunk in the middle of the night and ripping his bandmates

I have always liked Scott but that was just wrong to go about things like that. As much as i like VR if it is over so be it. The thing that gets me is when the band first got Scott, they really backed him. More than a band you just dont do that to friends. Especially Duff, it seemed he went out of his way to help Scott kick the drugs, and to go onstage and announce something like that is just not cool. I say bring on Loaded. The samething is going to happen in STP. The Deleo brothers will get sick of the antics and shit and Scott will probably once again screw them over aswell. It is a shame because the guy is talented.

The best way to promote a third album is to take a big break - do other projects, then announce a VR 'reunion' and grab as much publicity and media hype and do some festivals then  ta daaaa   a new album and tour!

Its probably a publicity stunt.
