What is that old college saying?
BS = bullshit
MS = more shit
Ph.D = Piled higher and deeper
I remember my last semester of college, I would hit the college bar on campus and have a glass of wine before class and my professor who was a recovering alcoholic would walk by me and just shake his head.
Another story is that I had to read The Scarlett Letter. Well, I didn't. I didn't even buy the cliffnotes. So when it came time to write an essay on it, my professor knew I had bullshitted it and he gave me a C- and said, "I really should fail you since you didn't read it, but you did such a wonderful job creatively bullshitting this, I am passing you with a C-"
Also, in British Literature, we had to read Ulysses by James Joyce. The same professor who was extremely intelligent...thank god for that man because he was able to actually make my college years fun and bearable. But how he summed up Ulyssess and this is the absolute truth....... he said
"She was fucked by him, he was fucked by her......life will fuck with you".
My chin dropped. I was like, "I just paid $300 to hear that?" But let me tell you, he was dead on with his commentary.
It's weird looking back at college because netscape navigator was just coming out when I graduated and so was telephone registration.
Now, I hear a lot of people who say they don't have the time to go to school and they can take classes online.
I think they were tired of seeing me walk the halls of college.
