Things seem to be a bit slow in terms of news from Axl & GNR camp, so I thought I might make a post, hopefully with contributors from others who might know more, as to what other musical projects the other (current) GNR members have going on at present (if any).

BUMBLEFOOT
Recording new solo album. No tour dates planned.

TOMMY STINSON
??
http://www.tommystinson.com/
http://www.myspace.com/tommystinsonofficial

DIZZY REED
Touring with Jizzy Pearl from March 2008.

ROBIN FINCK
??
http://www.robinfinck.com

RICHARD FORTUS
No current activities, but he often does one off shows or short tours.
http://4tus.com/

CHRIS PITTMAN
No current activities, but I was interested in reading about his previous collaborations. Check it out - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Pittman

FRANK FERRER
No current activities, but his main NON-GNR priority is his band called UNTOUCHABLES
EDIT: Jarmo mentioned he is doing odd shows with PISSER also, but I couldn't find a website with dates..
http://www.myspace.com/ghettometo

If anyone has any other news or knows of forthcoming releases or tours which feature any of the guys, post them here?..

Frank is playing around New York City with Pisser.

I think the next gig is at the end of the month.

I don't think its just a case of them needing new websites.. They need to be updated more constantly with current activities.

GNR members like Robin and Tommy, who have held the longest terms with Axl in GNR, tend to keep a low profile when GNR activities are minimal. Robin's website is more of a personal blog rather than a news source. Tommy's website is obviously promoting the album which is still most significant for Tommy, being his own solo album.

Yeah fair enough, but I thought people might be interested in specific band members or what they're up to, if they're touring, or releasing any new music etc.

I might as well post a discography of what each band member has contributed to. Where possible/known, this list only includes significant contributions, not like a lead guitar on one song or things like that, and no mention of compilations either, except for live albums. The name of the band the member was part of is included in "[ ]" after the album title

Where I was unable to confirm the name of the specific album the member featured on or the extent of their contribution, then I didn't include it.

I had this list prepared for a GNR website I was working on but aborted since there are already two or three major, extensive GNR fan websites out there and it would have been pointless to try.

BUMBLEFOOT
"The Adventures of Bumblefoot" (1995) [Released as RON THAL]
"Hermit" (1997) [Released as RON THAL]

DIZZY REED

"The Spaghetti Incident?" (1993) [GNR]

"SexTapesTM" {Album Title Unconfirmed} (2007) [SEXTAPESTM]

*(Pittman also played on the TOOL album "Aenema". I suggest if you are really interested in his musical background, look him up in WIKIPEDIA because there is some interesting information there but incomplete)

It's funny because the "mainstream" doesn't really know about them but when the album hits it's gonna be like they all won American Idol or some shit.  Patient bunch of motherfuckers...I'll give them that!!  hihi

I couldn't find the old Marketing/Release ideas thread, so I'll just put it here since it also goes with the thread topic.

For the release of Chinese, the band should release a beefed up limited edition set for something like 200 or 300 Dollars like NIN did. I'm sure GNR fans would help them sell out much like NIN fans did.
As I proposed before each member could do a little personal bio spot but make it their own. Ron's could be goofy. Fortus could have little Fortus in there. Robin could have his strange cirque de solei business. Tommy could do the punk thing. Pitman could have bunches of margaritas. So on so forth.

"The End of the Innocence" (1989) [DON HENLEY] - Contribution unknown

Background vocals on I Will Not Go Quietly

Other Guest Appearances by Axl:

The Outpatience: Anxious Disease  (Vocals On "Anxious Disease")

Black & White: Rainbow Bar And Girls (Vocals On "Rainbow Bar And Girls")

I believe Black & White's EP was released in 1989 and The Outpatience's in 1998 or 1996...

Tommy also has the Perfect album Once Twice Three Times a Maybe. He recently was the musical producer for the movie Catch and Release. Lastly, I am sure he helped out coordinating all the material for the Replacements reissues which are coming out in April and October. They had a ton of b-sides and stuff that they are adding to the original albums. I kinda wish they would throw a small Replacements tour together while we wait for the redhead.... ok

ps oh yeah, the good news is, according to Tommy's up to date website, Gnr is playing in South Africa on 4-27 and 5-1! hihi Wink

Didn't Robin play guitar on NIN Fragile albums?  I think Chris P. was also in a project called Zaum or something like that

I would hope Robin's involved in the artwork for the album. He's quite good when it comes to things like that by the look of his website.

Crikey these negotiations seem to be taking a long time. Are we nearly there yet?
