A couple of times because I had locked my keys in my car.  Slim jim wouldn't work but it only took a locksmith about 1 minute toget me in.  $45 for a minute's work is an outstanding hourly rate!!  It was in Indianapolis after the GNR and Metallica show.

locked myself out - cost me close to $400 to get back in (new lock, installation and "late night fee").  I would have been better off sleeping outside for the night  hihi

March of the Pigs

« Reply #5 on: January 25, 2008, 10:33:31 AM »

I think I've mentioned this story before but anyway. When I was living in London in a two flat house, an agent came to show the other flat but tried my lock first and broke the key in the lock. I called a locksmith who let me in. Later that day I managed to lock myself out again (this time my fault) so had to call the same locksmith to let me in again, they felt sorry for me and gave me a huge discount but I felt pretty dumb. That's the only times  I've had to call a locksmith.  Grin

I had a locksmith do my taxes once after he completed my annual physical.

Naw...never used 'em personally, other then for rekeying the locks at our store.

Usually when I'm with my buddys, we'll just find a way into the house. Hah.

To open the door as idiot number 1 had broke the lock and i was returning from the maternity with a 6 day old baby and it was minus 3 celsius outside and he refused to pay to open for the door, so my mother paid 180 euros to have it opened for us.

It is all in how one talks to them. I had a guy unlock my trunk, and punch a new key so I was good to go in about a couple of hours ... for less than $20US. Otherwise, I would have pulled the cylinder and done it myself.
