Kick'n back in the shadows...

It surprises me that they've never played Shotgun Blues live.
Don't Damn Me I can understand, it's pretty difficult song to play (well, for me it is)  and seems tough vocally too.
But Shotgun Blues is pretty straightforward... can't imagine why they never played it.
I've always liked the song

It's one of the UYI tracks that were never played live.

Others are Don't Damn Me,  Get In The Ring and My World.

Speaking of Don't Damn Me, I have always wanted to know the story behind Axl saying at the end "alright that sucked".  Has there ever been anything said to explain that?

How about "Breakdown", "the Garden", "Garden of Edan", and really pushing the envelope"Don't Cry Alt. version"?

Just off the top of my head (I didn't bother looking through all my old tapes and cd's):

Breakdown - Madison Square Garden, December '91
The Garden - numerous shows in early '93 during the Dust N' Bones tour
Garden of Eden - Austin I think, early '93
Don't Cry (alt) - summer '92 in Prague I think, also one of the Inglewood '91 gigs with Shannon Hoon perhaps?

Lol bad apples makes me  rofl idk why. Guns is really unique in that , i don't think i've seen many bands play as many songs as they did , as in like out of 3 albums they played all but what 3 or 4 songs? thats a really crazy thought.

There are plenty of bands that play as many songs as GnR, but what makes them standout a bit is the fact that they were playing huge, long stadium headline slots so early in their career... So they really had to play most of their material from those albums just to keep it interesting, whereas most big bands like the Stones/U2/Springsteen etc have so many more albums to choose tracks from that they're more likelyly to only wor up some of their newer tunes to play live.

Shotgun Blues is a funny song and a cool rocker.  I chose it for my username because the title sounds cool, not one of GnR's best but a fun and entertaining song

Really?! It's not that bad of a song , the solo is blistering too , decent lyrics.... Sounds a bit like something that should have been on AFD maybe..

At a show in Saratoga in june 1991, Axl actually made the audience sing the words "Get In The Ring..Get In The Ring...Get In The Ring..." several times in a row so they could record it for the song. They never did play it in its entirety. That's too bad. Grin

i always liked the fact that axl played rhythm on this one. decent rocker. bad-boy-macho-lyrics. but way better than get in the ring. hemingway for paranoid rockers.
