I love how the guy in the photo has to wear a mask to shield him from the stench of those that he is standing beside.
I found this a while back:

I love it.

I am amused by the irony of your calling me "holier than thou" though...I haven't been to Church in many, many years!
That was cute.
Saying someone is acting "holier than thou" doesn't necessarily imply churchgoing. It means an inflated sense of self-importance. Welcome to the world post-high school

Rest in peace...
Maybe some of you can shut the fuck up and not post in this thread if you have nothing good to say.
The guy died and all you do is treat him like shit.
Fuck off.
May be one of the few times I've ever agreed with Christos.
The guy from what everyone says was a really great, down to earth cool person. not some selfish bastard who only cared about himself.
I think everyone in the future should really wait before they rush to judgement.
Christos, I'm so sorry you think that way. How has Heath Ledger been treated like shit by posters in this thread? Seriously, get a clue. One post in 5 pages was derogatory. One.
D, there was no "rush to judgement." Who the hell called him a selfish bastard? Damn, the point I made was
if
he willfully offed himself and left his child fatherless, he'd be a selfish bastard. Maybe that's too soon for folks to here what ifs...that's understandable. Everyone has their own clock in these matters.
jonathanvondoom...you've heard the phrase, "No shit, sherlock," right? Yes, I take my importance very seriously.
Really man, don't sweat the small stuff. Thanks for the welcome to the world post high school!
btw, I think you know I meant that poor girl will hurt for a long time as a result of this loss. I thought I was pointing out the obvious that had this departure been a Cobain-like departure it would be much worse for her.
I am still hoping to hear this was all a tragic accident.

Prez, I totally understand why you might feel that way, but personally, even if that was the case, I would have a hard time feeling anything other than sadness and empathy for a guy who felt so tortured that he could no longer bear to exist. Of course, a result of that is that his child is now fatherless and that's clearly an awful thing. But at the same time, I can also see how his possibly feeling suicidal does not need to reconcile with how much he loved and cared for his daughter, no doubt at least exponentially more so than any of us that don't even know her.

RIP Heath Ledger. He was a cool actor.
His take on Joker looked/looks very promising.

Personally, I think it was an accident. He probably just mixed too many drugs. You must be really careful with your combos because yes, it can kill you or have an adverse reaction. I can't understand the whole mixing of uppers and downers though. Either you want to be up or go to sleep. Why would I take an upper if I wanted to go to sleep? Or why take downers if I want to party - maybe some weed to mellow but taking things like valium or anti-anxiety drugs and taking more than prescribed? It doesn't make sense unless you think partying is sleeping on the floor in a bar or at a party. Like Amy Winehouse taking Valium then smoking her pipe - aren't both downers? I have never smoked crack cocaine or coke so I don't know if it gives you an up or a down but most of the people I see smoke it, seems to bring them down.
Thing is, when somebody is doing a lot of uppers, speed, coke, crack any of that kinda stuff they're going to need something to take the edge off the high and/or help them come down eventually and that's where the kind of thing you're asking about with the downers comes into play. Of course, the more you keep going and the more messed up you get the more likely you are to lose track of what all you've been taking (in terms of quantity) and that's when things can get dangerous. As far as crack goes, it is most definitely an upper (it's basically just a form of freebasing i.e. smokable cocaine) and people have a variety of ways of taking the edge off the high be it taking pills like valium or xanax, snorting heroin (which is pretty common), drinking a lot of liqour, whatever. I would say this though, the effect you're talking about probably has more to do with the depression it brings on in the user once the initial high wears off, which doesn't take long. The bottom line is it's all bad news of course, but what Perez Hilton is saying does have a ring of truth to it. Mixing street drugs with various prescriptions, or even just mixing different prescriptions together can be a recipe for disaster.

I'm sorry if that came out wrong! I'm really not a heartless bastard. That really wasn't a smiley face, there's nothing happy about all this. A talented man has died way too early.

The evidence points toward Benzodiazepines, not cocaine, or any other uppers.

Yeah I know, I was just trying to answer her question about why people combine uppers and downers and speaking in a general sense.

It's disgusting to see what society has become.
Heath was a great actor in some of my favorite films and from what I know, a loving father. Whatever the situation was/is, a little girl is going to grow up without her father in her life. No one who hasn't gone through losing a parent could possibly understand the heartbreak and hardship that comes from such loss.
The GNR community has always been about coming together and showing our admiration for our favorite band, while we don't agree, we get along and show respect for one another. In other words, I would expect a little more grace and compassion. Drugs in any combination, frequency, or amount are dangerous and while it doesn't justify a person's actions, we can still look at a situation and feel and empathize. That's what sets us apart from every other species on the planet. Our ability to think, rationalize, and feel.
Living by your impulses and cracking largely inappropriate jokes is shallow and inhuman. Whether you liked, loved, or hated his acting, Heath was a person like all of us. And one day, all of us will die and I hope that you would want to be remembered and mourned rather than having everything you stood for be taken for granted and pissed all over.
Grow up. Seriously.

Christian Doesn't Think Heath's Death Was Joker-Related
Heath Ledger wasn't driven mad by Joker, says noted weirdo Christian Bale.
Although Jack Nicholson ominously said, "Well, I warned him," after Heath Ledger's death, his co-star Christian Bale doesn't believe the 28-year-old was driven mad by playing the Joker.
The shady circumstances leading up to Heath's death, including complaints of insomnia and a slavish devotion to his character, fed into gossip that the role had given him demons in a way that no cutie bad-boy hunk with ten reasons to hate role ever did.
But just because Heath wouldn't stop channeling the Joker while on the set of The Dark Knight doesn't mean he had problems. "Heath was somebody who, like myself, acted for that immersion in a character," Christian told Total Film magazine. "It's not an unusual thing. And from working with him and knowing him, I don't think that was unusual for him at all."
Note that this is the same actor who dropped 55 pounds to play a pilot stranded in the jungle in Rescue Dawn, so his idea of normal might be just a tad skewed.
