Yeah I am surprized Del didn't try for this before. I got lucky and ordered several for friends and I when It first came out. I am not much of a Horror reader (love movies and some Steven King). But Dels book is great. It's been years now sense I last read it, but I bet i have read it 5 times. I never did that with any other book. Its a good one to carry around. Short stories always work for airplanes and doctors offices. Always wanted to see this some of it on film!!

I believe the main problem was his book deal... They keep you tied for several years, I think that was the case with Del's book...

I don't understand why you can't order it. Usually you can order it even if it is back ordered. It doesn't even come up.

I like the fact that B&N shows a cover marked "all-new edition," but still find it really odd that Amazon doesn't reference or list this new edition in any way.  Hopefully that changes soon...

Hey everyone, I had almost forgotten that it was already March, but I got this today:

Quote
Jacob,

I hope all is well on your end. It's been pretty hectic on my end. My book "The Language Of Fear" which contains the short story "Without You" just got re-released after being out of print for years. You can order a copy of my book thru Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble.com or Borders.com or any major online retailer.

Take care,
Del

I checked, and indeed it is. On Amazon they don't have it themselves (sold out), but the under the "new and used" list there are a handful of new ones available. The Boarders website kind of confused me to be honest, but I but it my zip code and 2 stores have it locally, so it's out there if you guys want it. I'll probably pick mine up tomorrow night.

I got the same message from Del also. Pretty cool of him to update the individuals on the book.

Ordered mine through amazon today - if you are going to amazon.co.uk - it can be ordered through a number of different outlets that sell through amazon - prices are ranging from around ?3 to much higher (for first editions I guess).  I remember trailing around numerous bookshops back in the day trying to get a copy of this - look v forward to finally reading it!

THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR
By Del James

After being out of print for ten years, THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR, a short story collection by Del James is now available once again as a Dell paperback by print on demand. One of the top-ten most sought after horror/sci-fi titles, THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR featuring an introduction by W. Axl Rose, the book contains fifteen terrifying tales that run the gamut from a married man about to murder his wife on the command of a dial-a-porn hooker, to outlaw zombie bikers, to a stoned teenager locked in a savage war with his television set. THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR also features the short story ?Without You? which was the inspiration for the Guns N? Roses video ?November Rain.?

About the Author:
DEL JAMES is a meat-eating, pro-choice, sober, atheist. He writes horror fiction, screenplays, and music. As a lyricist, James has co-written songs with groups such as Testament, The Almighty, The Outpatients, and Gun N? Roses, including two songs on GNR?s Grammy-nominated Use Your Illusion album. James has directed several music videos and written live television for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is currently finishing his first novel, A Celebration of Pain. He likes to ignore his acquired wisdom and do things against his better judgment. When he?s not touring the world, James lives in Southern California. Visit him on the web at www.languageoffear.com

THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR
A Dell Mass Market Paperback
ISBN: 978-0-440-21712-1
Price $7.99
-Available Now Wherever Books Are Sold-

Praise for THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR:

?Del James has a personal knowledge of most of the situations he writes about, and has a love of the gutter from having been there.?
?W. Axl Rose

?Del James is fun. Of course, Hell is fun?if you?re one of the demons. That?s Del?s day job. After a hard day in Hell, he writes down what he saw. Good reading.?
?John Shirley, author of Living Shadows

"Del James writes like a cross-fire hurricane. Full of primal force and awesome energy, his stories leap out from the page, grab you and won't let you go. It's a shame horror didn't wake up and get the message of THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR back in '95. There might be a genre left now if it had."
?Paula Guran, DarkEcho.com

?The Language Of Fear could best be described as an updated Night Shift, the contemporary tales being short and nasty.?
?Cindy Baum, SCREEM MAGAZINE

?If Herschel Gordon Lewis had turned up with Black Sabbath and Charles Bukowski, it would play like Del James. This is pissed-off, heartbroken, rock ?n? roll horror: surprisingly tender, garage band crude, savage as a shotgun blast and audacious as an exit wound.?
?John Mason Skipp, co-author of The Long Last Call

Up until a few years ago I'd never even known much about Del or his involvement with GNR let alone this book. Sounds like Stephen King meets James Patterson, and I like both Authors, so me thinks I'm gonna be picking this up.

I don't read books very often, and usually they're about a band or an actor. But I really like Del's stories, I like his style.  beer
