Excellent.  I still have my old copy, though.  I wonder if there will be any updates, though, especially any mentioning of "Shattered Illusions", that biography Del was going to write on GN'R.

I don't think there will be any mention of the GN'R bio...

Besides, I'm pretty sure Del will have many more chapters to write in the near future, if he ever decides to publish a GN'R bio.

That's fantastic news.  I've been trying to get my hands on a copy for 14 years but never wanted to pay the ridiculous prices found on ebay and other sites.  Can't wait to finally read the story.  Doesn't Axl write the forward?

I read the book some years ago and wasn't impressed.

The NR video was inspired in a short story called "without you" that D.J. wrote inspired in the relationship of Axl and Erin, inspired not based (just wanted to clarify this) and this short story is in the book " Language of fear" with other short stories as well.

where did you hear about this and where will it be available?

A few years ago I was trying to get a permission to translate it to Greek for my site but I was told that Del would reprint it in 2 years or something. I believe his previous contract (or book deal) expired or something so now he could reprint it.

Then someone told me about this reprint thing about a month ago.

Apparently it would be available online by January but I haven't seen it anywhere yet.

But it will be available in book stores by March 2008 (ofcourse if all goes well, reckless road got delayed cause shit happens in life).

In Del's words:

"Maybe I can't always share or convey my feelings like other people but under the guise of a fictional story, I can vent or express myself or at least try. Thats what happened in 1986 with a short story called "Without You." Along with a pack of wonderful alcoholic degenerates, I was living in a place off Santa Monica Blvd known as "Hell House." I was 22 and bullet proof. During this time I witnessed something that inspired me to write a story about a musician who writes a love song only to be haunted be his own fame. His success becomes a curse that drives him toward suicide. I nervously gave this story to Axl hoping he'd get the message, the warning. He did and since he ever so kindly acknowledged me at the end of the "November Rain" video, that's essentially how I landed my book deal for The Language Of Fear."

So, the story was written about Axl and his troubled past. Not about GN'R. Then it inspired the November Rain video, which was "guess who's" idea...

I'll give you a hint, he wasn't playing lead or rythm guitar, bass guitar or drums at the time in GN'R... And no, it wasn't Teddy Zig Zag Andreadis or Dizzy Reed... 

And as leatherebel has already said, Del is finishing up his first novel A Celebration Of Pain.

What exactly is in this book? i'm interested, never heard of it until now.

IMO Del is a modern day Charles Dickens. His stories are brilliant! He totally exposes the dark side of LA, the same way that dickens exposed the dark side of Victorian London.
