Here Today...

« on: January 16, 2008, 06:38:22 PM »

Just am watching the news and we (the USA) are entering into a recession period.  Our dollar is weak, people are getting laid off left and right from their jobs, the mortgage industry is at it's worst ever.

Just wondering how will this impact CD sales?  If people are unemployed, they won't have the extra $10, $15, or $20 that it will cost to buy a music cd.

Personally, I'd budget for it but then again, I am financially well off.

Would this even enter the minds of Universal if they were going to release CD this year knowing that if the economy is in a recession or entering into one that they'd risk not getting their return on their investment?

Thoughts?

Well first off we're not quite there yet, were close but not there so i think that Universial should release it before the US goes into a full blown recession Grin *hint hint*

Besides there are other countrys that love the hell out of G'n'R so i don't think that it would really have that big of an effect personally.

i don't think they'd decide one way or another to release based on the economy but the state of the music industry may affect decisions...  either way, it sucks!

I'd be more focused on the music industry as a whole rather than the economy.

I think I'd be more focused on the economy as a whole than Chinese Democracy.

Some people are just WAY too into GNR.  Imagine seeing this discussion on Jim Cramer's show or CNN Money  rofl

Bush's America has come home to roost: An Enron state that sent jobs overseas and manufactured debt (which according to republicans is a "good" thing) instead. Looks like all the liquidity for the ponzi schemes is drying up, and down, down, down, down we go. Chumps.

Trillions so far, and trillions later.

Another similar day of the Dow's downward spin and the market average will be the same as when he first took office. Think about that.
