Just saw on MTV a news segment on what bands will rock in 2009. They had Blink 182, No Doubt, Led Zeppelin, Then Sway goes we want the ORGINAL Guns N' Roses !! Then Sway goes sorry Axl no diss here.
Leave it up to MTV to care about who rocks in 2009. Guess what ain't gonna happen, New Guns forever.

Because it's the correct spelling of Axl.

GNR was referenced in the show Californication last night. The main character (David Duchovany) who is a writer has had writer's block and was being interviewed by a DJ (Henry Rollins) and the DJ said something like "Hope it doesn't take you 10 years to write another book like it is taking GNR to put out their latest album"...some shit like that...it was not that funny...I think the writer of the show likes GNR because this is the show that they featured Tommy's "Light of Day" although the incorporation of GNR was just another rip on the album's delay...At least they are fucking relevant!!! This album will be huge...the mystique of the album has trumped the album itself...Axl's plan is in full effect and working just like he wants it....
This was the bit from Californication
DJ:-
"Some folk have compared the wait for your new novel to the decade plus wait from the new Guns N Roses album which one do you think will see the light of day first?"
Hank:-
"I would certainly hope I beat Guns N Roses to the punch because i want to get on Oprah book club" then there was some other stuff about Oprah
There was another GN'R reference in the show a couple of episodes after that one. Hank's in a meeting with his agent and someone who works for his publisher, and the letter asks him, "So Hank, how is Chinese Democracy coming along?"
I didn't find either references too insulting... I actually thought it was just a bit of light-hearted banter that Axl probably laughed at himself.

On the TV show It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia, Charlie and Mac are forming a band in the music store and Mac says "Your Axl, I'm Slash" While trading off duets of famous lead singers and musicians.

I also don't get it
What is so special about the name 'Axel' and what is the reference to Axl Rose or GNR? Axel is not such an uncommon name in Belgium or France. I don't now how that is in other countries.
How about
Duff
beer in the Simpsons than??

I was watching SUPERNATURAL last night, and there was an episode about a SIREN who was stalking guys in strip bars. DEAN said, "What's her song, WTTJ?"
