I attended one.  Was it worth it?  Depends on how you look at it.  It was pretty rushed, once they were there.  We were told we could take as much time as we wanted/needed, but most of us just, nervously, rushed through.  And the tour manager had one hand on our arms to make sure we kept moving in a timely fashion (past each guy, who were sitting at a table).  You can get signed, pretty much, whatever you want/whatever you bring.  I thought it was worth it because I got to meet them, get something special autographed, and had a picture taken with them.  Some people think it is not worth it because you could meet them, for free, if you choose to hang around buses & bars and take the chance that you just might run into someone (which I've never had luck with & feel uncomfortable with, anyway).  The money you are paying is not that much in comparison with what other bands charge, through the corporate "fan club".  For me, it was worth it.

You can get signed, pretty much, whatever you want/whatever you bring.

so we are allowed to bring in what ever we want signed now?

My only issue would be what do you do with the stuff after it's signed?

I mean is the meet and greet done a few hours before the concert?  If so - once you get the stuff signed it would suck having to hang on to it all night while you watch the concert, particularly if you have GA tickets and wanted to get up close.

Or are the meet and greets done on a different day at a different time so this is not an issue.

You can pretty much bring in whatever you want to have signed, I mean, within reason.  I have a Contraband LP, which I brought and they signed.   Guitars might be an issue, but people have done it.  Venues might be different in what they allow, but we were allowed to take our stuff to our cars and come back.  However, it was a venue with reserved seating.

The meet n' greet takes place a couple hours prior to the show.

So would it be possible to chat with the boys for an extended time?

Don't know what you mean by "extended time".  I will tell you that security is everywhere, once they walk in.  I'm sure you could talk to them for a minute or two, but the tour manager will keep you moving along.....You could try - see what happens!  It's not like some personal, informal visit with the guys - it's not quite like that.

Yes, they did seem interested and were all quite friendly.  I'm sure you could probably get your few minutes.  Just remember, though, it is a meet n' greet - it's not like your going to sit down over a couple of non-alcoholic beers and have some deep and insightful conversation with the guy.   Wink

Depends - some have, maybe, 10 people; other venues could have 25.  I wouldn't say more than that though.

So, are you going to do this? or no?  If you do, I hope you post about your experience, and hope it's a good one!

There was at least 50 people at the New Years Eve Show in NYC.  Probably more like 75.  You can tale STP stuff if you want but Weiland will not be there.

A few facts I've gathered from other's experiences...Scott does not attend the M&G's so unlikely you will meet him.  Dave and Matt have each missed one or two.  I have never heard any bad comments - only positive remarks - towards the guys themselves and their treatment of the fans.  I thought I read somewhere that 40 is the max allowed for the M&G's so as to keep them manageable, but it wouldn't surprise me if Fanfire didn't adhere to that if it meant more money to be made.  There is no pulling up a chair and settling in for a comfy chit-chat.  So be prepared ahead of time about what you want to say to them as its about 90 seconds total with the entire band by some accounts.  They have been very strict on the no cameras/add'l pics allowed rule.  And it seems its been differing some on the item(s) to be signed.  At first it was the picture they gave you was it.  But lately they've been allowing any ONE item of your choice - except for guitars.  I'm not sure if they've allowed any of them in yet to be signed, but in the beginning they said definitely not.  And I believe they do allow you to go out to put your items in your car and let you back in.  Joya, the gal running the M&G's, is apparently very nice and approachabe and will guide you thru the process and answer any questions.

Definitely more than 40 at the New Year's Eve gig.  One guy brought a guitar that Slash not only signed, but also drew the skull and crossbones pic on.
