CC should take a paycut and join the Cubs.  hihi

Seriously.  He and Big Z could take BP together, have eating contests, and scare the shit out of opposing hitters.  It would be great!

i'm still on cloud 9 after the phillies world series win. i work with fans of other teams that still try to tell me that the phillies were lucky and weren't really the best team. i just have to laugh!

i still think of something every day or two that makes me shake my head.
- lidge being perfect through the last out of the world series.
- lidge blowing the all-star game and it meaning that we clinch the fuckin world series at home.
- moyer having more wins than hamels.
- utley being on track for mvp two years in a row and then getting hurt and we go to the playoffs and win a world series those years.
- hamels is 24.
- we got lidge for michael bourn who finished w the lowest avg and on base% in baseball.
- blanton's homer.
- a 3 inning finale.
- a 2am game ending w ruiz and bruntlett as the heroes on a ball hit too soft for longoria to field.
- the wind knocking down longoria's monster shot to left and the next two batters (utley and howard) riding the wind to right for homers.

the list goes on. it's just unbelievable.

Save it for someone else!

No one here has made any disparaging remarks about the 2008 Phillies winning the championship!

the yankees are not offering abreu arbitration. interesting.

since the Phils traded him on July 30, 2006....

- they went on a tear and just missed the playoffs by a game or 2 in 2006
- won the division in 2007
- won the World Series in 2008

talk about addition by subtraction!

Everyone in Pittsburgh is wondering when that philosophy will start workin' for them.  They've been subtracting for years!

don't be bitter just cause the Phils spanked the hell out of your dodgers.  hihi

The phils were just simply the better team. LA never really had a shot in that series. but the dodgers can learn from the phils. there's always next year.

Red Sox re-signed Dustin Pedroia, reportedly for 6 years 40.5 mil.  The guy has won a World Series, Rookie of the Year, MVP, and a gold glove in 2 seasons and they locked him up for just under 7 mil a year.  Sounds like a bargain to me.

The implications of the Yankees NOT getting Sabathia will be big

A big reason they passed on the Santana deal was because they knew Sabathia would be out there if they waited 1 more year and they would'nt have to give up what they thought was going to be a stud pitcher in Hughes

Then they go an blow every offer out of the water and Sabathia still keeps them waiting

If they don't get him - I'd expect them to lose their mind and go on a ridiculous spending spree

Yeah, Sabathia hasn't accepted anything yet.

I expect their to be more action in the off-season signings once the winter meetings commence.

I'm a big yankee fan and I actually hope Sabathia signs with someone else.

I'll eat my words if I am wrong but I believe for the money, Sabbathia is gonna be a bust.

Why people forget his horrible post Season stats and the horrible year he had in Cleveland is beyond me.

His post-season stats are one reason I don't want him, and not to be too rude, but I don't like the fact that he is over-weight either. It takes a lot of energy to carry around that weight if you know what I mean.

In baseball news today, In the winter meetings, CC Sabathia had a second talk with the yankees.

They are still not sure how serious he is about signing with the yankees yet though.

David Wells carried that weight around just fine for years, in pinstripes no less.  As for CC's playoff stats.  They are awful, and that would be a concern.  BUT, both Cleveland and Milwaukee wore him down.  He pitched a great deal of innings, pitching on 3 days rest multiple times.  It may just be that the workload caught up with him in the end.  He's a workhorse no doubt, and he should be commended for wanting to take the ball on any given day, but it certainly appears to have an adverse effect on him in October.  If the Yankees ended up signing him I'm sure they would be more careful with limiting his innings to a point.  They're not known for overworking their starters.  The Brewers pretty much knew they weren't gonna be able to re-sign him and he was pretty much a 3 month rental so they used him as often as they could.  He is human.

Seems like everyone likes fucking with Nedco.  I want him to eat the corn from my shit and die.

Are you implying that you have poisonous shit corn?  Or would he be dying from a separate incident?

Well, I'm not exactly happy lol.

CC Sabathia is close to a 161 million, 7 year deals with the Yanks.

Also, AJ Burnett could decide by tomorrow whether to accept their 5 year deal.

I think there were better options to go. But, we'll see how it plays out, and it's not final yet...

Yanks are retarded.

Mussina won 20 last year and retired, so basically they paid a guy 23 million a year that won't even replace Mussina's numbers.

Yanks have struggled in the  postseason

so what do u do?

Go out and sign one of the shittiest post season pitchers ever.

What is even more hilarious is, they are reportedly gonna offer AJ Burnett more than the 15 million a year the Braves are.

Did they not learn their lesson from Carl Pavano and Kevin Brown etc etc.

Let's give money to an injury prone pitcher.
