The Angels fail at baserunning again, LOL.

Torii Hunter = Washed up piece of trash.

Don't forget defense too. Remember the blunder earlier in the game where the ball fell between not one not two but THREE fielders.

Fuck.

Extra innings.

I blame the Fenway grounds crew for not mowing those red socks in the infield.

Maybe you should blame the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim who play in Anaheim, but think it sounds better if they are from Los Angeles since that is the major city in their market area and they used to be called the California Angels in the past which made things much less confusing.  hihi

BTW- I wouldn't want my favorite sports team called the NY Jets of East Rutherford, NJ

That was a pretty good game last night, exciting.  Of course I didn't enjoy the outcome.  The Red Sox really had no business being in that game.  The Angels did their best to keep it close.  Sox took advantage of opportunities they were given, but it wasn't enough in the end.  Beckett was not good.  Bullpens were great up until Javier Lopez.  It seemed like the Sox were sitting back, waiting for the walkoff homer which never came.  The Angels manufactured the winning run with some small ball.  Give them credit.  The Angles could've easily swept this series by now.  So far they've just made more mistakes than the Sox, but each game has been close.  A rematch of game 1 tonight (Lester/Lackey).  If either starter gets in trouble early, it'll be interesting to see how that's handled.  I've got to imagine both bullpens are a little overworked after last night.  The Sox used all but Wakefield and Byrd, and used their 4 main relievers for an inning+.  I know the rules change in the playoffs, you're a little less concerned about pitch counts and working multiple innings on back to back days.  But if either starter has to exit stage left early in the game it'll take some masterful piecing together to stay afloat.

Good for them!  I'm still amazed the way they came from nowhere to win that division this year.

I consider myself fully in the Fightin' Phils camp, now that my Cubs are gone.  But I'd be ok with Tampa Bay, too.

glad to have you on board!  beer

but why would you want to do that to yourself?! as a cubs fan you have suffered enough! the phils are right there with the cubs in terms of suffering.

all kidding aside, Jayson Stark wrote a great column that puts the Phils history in perspective.

Well, I tended to root for the Red Sox when they were still sufferers.  And the White Sox, too, since I'm not actually from Chicago, and don't put much personal venom into that rivalry.

So it's no surprise I'm for Philly and Tampa (the regular loser and the new kid underdog) over LA and Boston (the team that ousted my Cubs --- yeah, I'm bitter --- and the defending champs).

yeah, i'm the same way. if (when) the phils lose, i'll be pulling for the Rays. always looking for a good "Rocky" story.   ok

it's almost hard to believe how the Red Sox, and the city of boston overall (80's Celtics aside) has gone from sufferers to freakin spoiled beyond belief in such a short amount of time.

i sometimes dream that that can happen to philly. i just want one title. just one. not being greedy - i just want to go to one parade.  Cry

I hear ya.  I'm not nearly as frustrated with the Colts stinkin' it up as I would have been a few years ago.  Now that they've won one, it's like a weight is lifted or something.  Of course, it will return in time.
