That's right, Mike Piazza.  He's an automatic Hall of Famer...class guy...GNR fan...and yes, part of the reason we all probably got to hear IRS!  Thanks Mike for the great baseball...but thanks even more for helping to get IRS out to the rest of us fans!!!   beer

I missed Lester's no hitter.  I'm a Sox fan and watch pretty much every game but I had a softball game last night and compeltely missed it.  Our team sucks and we lost of course, so it wasn't worth it.  Had to catch it on the highlights and the replay on NESN.  I find it amazing being a Sox fan I've seen the best of Clemens, Pedro, and a bit of Schilling, and NO no no's.  Yet Hideo Nomo, Derek Lowe, Clay Buchholz, and Jon Lester have all twirled one.

Griffey smacked #598 2 days ago.

He'll soon not be so forgotton anymore.

Just if it wasn't for those injuries... he'd be at #698 and we'd all be talking about him breaking Bond's record.

Red swept the Braves, so now the season series if 3-3.

Reds start a 4 game series today.

Griffey's @ 599, a player that many have forgotten now, but a player that people will remember later.

I would say this anyway, but due to the steroid scandals, Ken Griffey Jr. is the greatest baseball player I have ever seen. He had the sweetest swing of his Generation and played the hell out of Center Field when he was healthy. I would love to see what would have happened if he were to have stayed in the AL and could have been rotated into DH when comming off of injuries.

2 of my favorite Fenway Park Memories (outside of the 04 post season) were being in the bleachers and comming within two rows of catching Griffey's 200th career homerun in '96 and being on the first base line for the HR Derby battle between McGwire and Griffey durring the 99 All Star game.

What a weird game at Fenway today.

First off, last night Coco Crisp slid hard into second to break up a double play and Tampa mgr. Joe Maddon took umbrage and yelled something in his direction when he went out to make a pitching change.  Crisp yelled back and the 2 had quite the back and forth from afar.

So today in Crisp's first AB he got drilled in the leg.  Obviously intentional, and he charged and threw a punch that the pitcher dodged, and a bench clearing brawl ensued.  Many punches were thrown, 3 guys ejected (obviously both batter and pitcher and throw in Jonny Gomes who pummeled Crisp when he was at the bottom of the pile).  Then Jacoby Ellsbury made a nasty diving catch and rolled his right wrist.  He had to leave because of injury.  He was replaced by Kevin Youkilis, who after a couple innings got into an altercation with the usually mild mannered Manny Ramirez in the Sox dugout.  Don't know what that was about, but Manny was hot and needed to be held back from getting at Youk.  Kevin looked surprised himself.  Weird day at the ballpark.

Manny being Manny...the guys just fuckin off his rocker sometimes.  hihi

Coco slid hard the night before because earlier the fucker blocked him on a slide. And everybody knows nobody likes to be blocked on a slide. Also coco dodged the pitchers punch but hit the douche in the back of the head a little. We kicked Tampa's ass just like Pedro knocked Zimmer on his old white ass.

Just another day at fenway.  rofl  smoking

I've just watched my Cubbies win 9 of 10, only to realize that the Brewers have done the same!  rant

On the bright side, it must be a little demoralizing to win 9 of 10 and make up NO ground in your division.  Grin  Especially in a stretch where Derrek Lee hit 8-39.

The Cubs are hot right now, and they're a good team to boot, but they will cool off.

They'll win 90 games sure, but they will calm down.

Look for the reds to make a late season push.

cincinatti is the worst team in the division.  rofl   the cubs are hot, but the cardinals will be the team that emerges victorious in the NL central when all is said and done.  ok

The Royals are even worse than I thought.
Rangers let Ponson go, who apparently has real problems.
Tigers stink for reasons that escape me (and I am not talking about  performance, I mean why are they performing so poorly).
White Sox are leading, but does anyone believe they are actually a good club, with Guillen as the manager?
Yankees.....Hank, suck my dick.
Rays....keep it up, you go girl.
B-Sox....I think at the end if you get people healthy you are the team to beat.
Cubs...Let's go Cuban.
Rockies...what the fuck is wrong with you?
Dodgers...does the Torre magic not work in the Pacific time zone?

I'll just comment on one subject here.  Guillen did lead the Sox to a World Series win a couple years back so I wouldn't be so harsh to insinuate that HE'S the problem.  With that being said, he even mentioned that the team is not good enough offensively right now to win it all.  Then again, there's always room for improvement.

I wouldn't say the Reds are the worst team in the NL Central. They aren't the best though. They are better than what their record shows.

Also, anyone think they should move Houston to the Al WEst?

Makes sense... all have 5 teams but the NL Central and Al West... dumb
