Once again, like I've been saying for more than eight years now, it's time to go back to vinyl.

"We're unhappy that technology has allowed you to rip off our cheaply made and manufactured, imperfect and outdated 80s product, but we'll continue to release music in that format in the hopes that you'll heed our warnings and stop."

vinyl > CDs > mp3s > tapes

I think you should be able to listen to it in anyway you wish, but i agree you shouldn't be able to do as you please with it. If he was just ripping it to his computer cause thats how he prefers to listen to it i think that should be ok. Unfortunately the law currently states otherwise.

Hey, that's what I would've said!

Anyway...fuck the music industry.  Their resistance to change and pushing of crappy products makes them deserving of their pending downfall.

They are scum. I'd be the first to toss them a bag of lead weights.

This will never go anywhere, and they should be sanctioned heavily for wasting the Courts valuble time with this pathetic brief.

The record companies want you to buy the same music twice. Once on CD then again on a digital download. It's greed - or a desperate attempt to save their slumping industry.
