Popmetal - have a nice day hihi

thanks, I will ?hihi

Def Leppard might have been "co-headlining" with Bryan Adams, but they switched who went on first, so they ended up opening half the tour.

And even if you want to call HaND a pop album, it's still nowhere near as pop as X was.

I wonder if Def Leppard will be joining Bryan Adams in a duet with Mel C  hihi

Meanwhile, the Oprah show was on prime time TV on Saturday Night.. advertised special! (Oprah is normally on during the day time here).. they occasionaly have Oprah on a prime evening spot if it's something like the last episode of Raymond, Friends, Tom Cruise interview etc.. so that's pretty cool for Bon Jovi into their third week of sales now. I'm hopeful now that following the album success and promos, that they will tour here.

Idiot. No one buys a product soley on the basis of the genre its in
Maybe i should drop in here that many people that like Kelly Clarkson will have bought HAND, they also might have bought a few Venom albums, who knows hihi

no need to call me an idiot, just having a discussion. People who like AC/DC will have bought HAND... people who liked GNR will have bought HAND.... and...? A person liking kelly Clarkson... who happens who enjoys and buys the Rolling Stones album... my god! mick is turning "kelly"!

They sold most of those albums before they dragged the name down for a start
Ask just about anyone what they think of Bon Jovi and u'll see how they are viewed.....

before Crush they sold 75 million albums world-wide... through the new albums, and getting people interested in their older albums... selling 25 million albums in the past five and a half years. And why should I ask what Bon Jovi is thinked about? I know what the general public views... so? They're about to begin a soldout tour. They did a #2 on both US and UK. #1 in over ten nations. People still are interested. They're paying for Bon Jovi. Do I really care what other people think...? I usually listen to music that I think is good, not other people.

Sales=quality? Roll Eyes
They sold out bad

Jon has always been a superb music buisness man. IF Bon Jovi were to have been continuing their 80's style... grundge would have sucked them down to being a "past" 80's band along with Cinderella, Skid Row, Motley Crue etc... The band made compromises. Created new sounds. And with the past few years since Crush, no "real" rock song besides Have A Nice Day has been released as a single. But, obviously since you probally don't own Crush, Bounce or HAND, the rest of the album includes what you would consider "not sold out" rock. Examples: Two Story Town, Next 100 years, Make a living outta lovin you, Undivided, Hook Me Up, Love Me Back to Life, Last Man Standing, Complicated, Dirty Little Secret... so on... with this method, it supplies bon jovi in the spot light, while still pumping out awesome rock songs. I've seen so many kids who used to listen to Simple Plan and Good Charlotte etc. who got interested in like "its my life"... leading them to listen to the real rockers on the album... opening up to other great rock bands. Judging by singles, yes, they have sold out from the former glory, have a listen more into the albums, the boys still kick ass.

Wake up - they were once a rock band, they are now a joke - hell they couldn't even shift 500k copies in the opening week with ''100 million fans''. Limp Bizkit managed 1 million in a week and Eminem 1.7 mill, with virtually no fan base behind them

IF they were trying to sell well with the boxed set they should've released a lame box set with Prayer and Bad Name and other hits... easy... sells well... but no, they released completely unreleased demos and bsides. Jon never said TLFR or box set was to sell, giving some good stuff to the fans, instead of the lame norm. box set.

Wake wakey. Just because the products sold doesn't mean its a good product - look at how many albums Beyonce shifted....

what product? im talking about a concert. not to mention a concert at the most famous stadium in the world. probally one of the greatest honors any band could have. Even the Stones didn't get picked. Because the fact of it is, BJ *is* the more popular live bandin London. Just take a look at their last concert... the Stones did a free concert at hyde park... 125,000 showed up.... BJ did a concert charging 30 pounds for GA.... 92,000... imagine if it would be free. not to mention it was on the same day as glastonbury...

That's just self explanatory. Its rock n roll - its supposed to be spontaneous, people having a good time

for the record... i didn't agree with you the first time round... the crowd looks like they were having a blast! and people who actually went were sharing at BSJBJ and drycounty.com's message board, they said it was a lotta fun. You can see it in the crowd, even the people in the back. One time i spotted this guy in his mid-20's i say. he looked like he was just singing the loudest he could, rockin out, and having a great time. Let's have a stop the the debate over if the people were having fun in the video. there's no answer. pointless.

Standing in between the 14 year olds and their parents - exciting! hihi

most people who dislike BJ, most will still agree... bon jovi puts on one of the biggest, best rock shows out there. I'm in my 30's, no 14 kids to bring along, a guy who works with me, who is 42, has seen them since the early 80's, up till now... you been to a BJ concert before?

As he often does, this guy says it just right:
Have a nice day is a pop record ,they are successful so whats the use of fooling yourself into thinking its anything else other than pop...if you like them, you like them, if you dont you dont so who cares what genre it belongs to...or are you just too ashamed to admit thats its pop?

didn't know Jesus posted on here. because you sure quote him like the bible. so what this person says? get some better points.

Great job Stones!

Izzy buy the damn record already, u know u want too.

Dont judge any band by the singles, u know that.

Look they have to pump out a radio friendly hardcore fan pleaser like HAND but I promise u, the rest of the album is nothing like Have A Nice Day the song

I rank the song HAND about 8th on the album.

Go buy it already dude and u will like it.

Bon Jovi sold 2 million copies of Crush in the US, 8 million worldwide.

I dont think they've lost a step.

Tico's from the town I was born in, Perth Amboy, NJ.  My Dad remembers seeing him on the streets back in the day.  Also on that note, my Mom went to grade school with Jon Bon Jovi.  She was a couple years ahead of him, but she remembers seeing him around.  Of course pretty much everyone from New Jersey has a Bon Jovi story, so I guess those aren't very amazing.

As sold-out shows continue to stack up for Bon Jovi's forthcoming tour, the New Jersey rockers have loaded the schedule with a slew of new 2006 concerts.Following the conclusion of the tour's previously announced first leg--which kicks off in early November and wraps up just before Christmas--Bon Jovi will take a few weeks off, and in mid-January will launch the tour's second leg, dates for which so far run into mid-March.

Tickets for most of the newly announced February and March concerts will hit the box office on Saturday (10/22), though previously scheduled on-sales for the tour's Florida stops--in the Ft. Lauderdale area and Tampa--have been pushed back from Saturday until Oct. 29 due to concerns about the approach of Hurricane Wilma, according to Bon Jovi's website. Also scheduled for a Saturday (10/22) on-sale are tickets to a recently added Dec. 7 show in Uniondale, NY.

Currently available on-sale dates as of press time are included in the itinerary below.

For those who say Bon Jovi still arent one  of the biggest bands in the world:

By The Way I went to ticketmaster to get 2 tickets for Atlanta and every single seat even the nose bleeds was sold out and that place holds around 14,000.

BON JOVI "HAVE A NICE DAY" WORLD TOUR SELLS 500,000 TICKETS DURING FIRST WEEKEND OF ONSALES
* * *
OVERWHELMING FAN DEMAND IN CHICAGO, BOSTON, EAST RUTHERFORD, MONTREAL, TORONTO, AND DETROIT LEADS TO IMMEDIATE SELLOUTS AND ADDED CONCERTS

October 4, 2005, Los Angeles, CA -- Bon Jovi's upcoming Have A Nice Day World Tour is proving to be "the must-see" tour of the year. Ticket demand for the first 34 "Have A Nice Day" concerts have been through the roof, with an unprecedented 502,000 tickets sold and 17 sold out shows during the first weekend of on-sales in North America and Europe. Fan demand in Chicago, Boston, East Rutherford, Montreal, Toronto, and Detroit was so strong that additional concerts were put on sale immediately. Additional North American and Europe dates will be announced and onsale in the upcoming weeks. The Have A Nice Day World Tour is being promoted internationally by Concerts West, an AEG Live company.

AEG Live's Randy Phillips states, "The formula for Bon Jovi's success is very simple: Take one of Rock's greatest live bands with a work ethic that is not-to-be-believed, mix in a fantastic new album, and add a gigantic and loyal fan base and the results are this weekend's on-sales in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Concerts West, the international touring division of AEG Live, is extremely proud to be part of the Bon Jovi legacy."

The Have A Nice Day World Tour comes on the heels of Bon Jovi achieving a career-high first week of album sales with Have A Nice Day sales of 201,881 units. Boosted by a non-stop week of television, radio, satellite and Internet media events, Island recording group Bon Jovi debuted on the Billboard 200 Albums chart last week, as Have A Nice Day entered at #2 with first week sales of 201,881 units.

For me Bon Jovi didnt really sell out because they were always more pop than rock. Look at the 80's when they were at their peak - they were still loads of the songs that were very poppy then. I dont think Bon Jovi's ever been real rock to me - more a kind of commerical midway - still some of there stuff rules, just dont listen to the crappy pop songs and listen to the sweet rock ones.

The overwhelming success of Bon Jovi's HAVE A NICE DAY tour has the band announcing two more concerts:

ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY
BOARDWALK HALL
Showdate: Saturday, FEBRUARY 4, 2006
TICKETS go ON SALE to the GENERAL PUBLIC this Saturday, November 12th.
FAN CLUB tickets will be available (fan club site will have those details.)

4TH and FINAL Show!!1
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA
Showdate: Tuesday, JANUARY 30, 2006
TICKETS go ON SALE to the GENERAL PUBLIC this Saturday, November 12th.
FAN CLUB tickets will be available (fan club site will have those details)

Unsigned artists in select cities where Bon Jovi  tour will touch down in the coming weeks have a shot at opening for the multi-platinum rockers, and could even score a record deal.Sponsored by XM Satellite Radio and dubbed the "Have Nice Gig" contest, the competition will result in 24 bands from 17 cities rotating through the opening slot. To enter, unsigned musicians living within 100 miles of one of the selected cities must complete an application and upload a song at the contest's website.

A "panel of XM's in-house music experts" will review the submissions and select the 24 winners, one of which will also receive a demo deal with AEG Records and open a second show for Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium during a summer 2006 performance, according to a press release.

Eligible dates and cities for the first leg of the tour are noted in the itinerary below; those for the tour's second leg have not yet been announced.

Last week, Bon Jovi launched its "Have a Nice Day" world tour, which begins with two stretches of North American shows. The outing's first leg runs until just before Christmas, and the second leg is slated to run from mid-January to mid-March.

The tour takes its name from Bon Jovi's latest album, which surfaced in September and moved 201,881 copies during its first week in stores, a career-high first-week total for the group. Co-produced by band members Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora along with John Shanks (Kelly Clarkson, Hilary Duff), the set debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

Bon Jovi expects to remain on the road throughout 2006, and has already confirmed a run of European shows for next May and June. The European itinerary is available at the band's official website.
