Isn't it "Rock" in Rio, not "Country Rock"?  Just kidding, but seriously will they play their newer stuff?  I guess it's not Gods of Metal, but will the crowd be receptive to such music?

I'm not doubting the crowd at Rock in Rio wouldn't like them, I'm just not so sure how they'd receive songs from "Lost Highway".  I'm sure it'll be fine, I just wonder if they'll stay away from those songs and stick to the more "rock" songs?  I'm guessing no, Jon sticks to his guns and believes in their material.  And good for him, even though I don't like the new stuff.

Love him or hate him, Jon Has the personality and Charisma to get away with just about anything. I think he could play Christmas Songs to Muslims and they'd clap and sing a long.

Nope, not headed in that direction at all.

The surprise element is cool though in concerts.

True. You want to hear your favorites, which tend to be the hits, but a band cant please everyone in the audience that night. It really only matters if the setlist changes if you are seeing a band multiple nights. Other than that, if it doesnt bore the hell out of the band, who cares?

Cause when u do go to the concert, its nice to have no clue as to what u are gonna hear.Rock shows are suppose to be unpredictable and if u do the same thing everynight it starts seeming like a going through the motions deal instead of a geniune anything can happen show.

When I saw Bon Jovi back in 2000 in Cincinatti, Jon told stories of how it was the night of his and Dave's high school reunion and talked for 5 minutes about where they came from and this and that, it was really awesome and emotional, Jon even seemed to get a little teary eyed and then they did Runaway acoustically which is amazing.

I read the setlists for every show and knew what to expect in the encore. they did that encore but we were so loud they came out and did ANOTHER encore that wasn't previously done on any other show to that point.

Its also nice to treat hardcore fans to surprises.

Could u imagine being at a GNR show and they break out Civil War or Estranged or something. Are u kiddin me? that would be the greatest thing ever because u totally wouldn't expect it.

Hell, look at the reaction Dont Cry got. I havent seen anything like it in a long time.

Or have them play an acoustic show in a club or play a few surprise covers like Sway, Sailing or Back In The USSR!

Imagine that!

I agree D...On Bon Jovis 'Have A Nice Day Tour' I went to I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd Toronto show and I had followed the setlist every night on that tour and when they came out for the encore they played 'Heroes' by David Bowie...I was in shock and they hadnt played it yet to my knownledge it was such a treat
