Use Your Illusion I (1991)

« Reply #1380 on: December 28, 2007, 04:50:38 PM »

Yeah man, I liked New Jersey. Bon Jovi is one of those bands I just can't live without.

Very awesome. I love These Days, hell I like all their albums.

I don't care too much for Have A Nice Day and Lost Highway. They're good, but they seem a little blah blah.

Bon Jovi has always put out fresh songs, and the songs off those 2 albums as a whole aren't so good.

Lost highway is cool, just only like half the album and Have a nice day, I like 4 songs.

Bon Jovi is bon jovi and that isn't what gn'r is... so I'm happy for that....

^^^ think about it...

Well for those of you who think Bon Jovi sucks and is cheese and shit, and even for those who like him....I was just watching the NHL Outdoor in Buffalo between the Sabres and Penguins and when they were cleaning the ice....the 70 thousand fans that were there were singing 'Livin On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi.....Just thought that was very cool

Seeing them next Monday night at Acer Arena in Sydney. Should be a good concert, if they steer clear of their new stuff...  hihi

They do put on a good show, I saw them in November.  But I'm with you, I could've done without the new stuff.  There were 7 or 8 songs to use the restroom or get a frosty beverage during.

I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised at how much Bon Jovi rocked last night. They played a few new songs, but they played a whole heap of old stuff which they absolutely nailed. Richie Sambora must get really bored on the newer stuff, because he shreds so much on the old stuff! ok

They played for 2 and a 1/2 hours and pretty much played all the hits. Here's the set from last night:

That is a ridiculous setlist.

That would be worth almost any amount of money to see.

Bon Jovi are one of the last great American Rock bands left.

Love the list! Hopefully I will get out to see them in Nashville...  Huh

HOLY FUCK

What a setlist!!!!!!!!!!!!

What did knockin on Heaven's Door sound like?

It sounded pretty damn good. Jon just played and sang the first verse and chorus of it on his own before starting into Blaze Of Glory.

Another highlight of the show was when Jon went out into the crowd and setup on a separate smaller stage on the floor and played the following songs, firstly just on his own - (You Want To ) Make A Memory, and then Richie joined him, both on acoustic guitars for  I'll Be There For You. Bed Of Roses was played in a different arrangement too, just David playing piano and Jon singing.

These guys are getting on a bit age-wise, but man, they played as tight as ever, even the old stuff Richie nailed!
Raise Your Hands sounded killer! beer

nice touch with the charitable work, but since it was brought up, Dee Snider mentioned Jon on the Howard Stern Show the other day.  Dee is putting on a benefit concert for the families of the victims in the horrible fire at the Great White show in Rhode Island years back.  Howard asked Dee if anyone refused to take part.  He responded that Bon Jovi wanted nothing to do with anything related to hair metal.  He wanted to distance himself from the genrd that made him a star and pretend like he was never a part of it.  Howard did stand up for Jon though and said that he knew Jon did do a lot of charity work.

Just dont think Jon wants to be associated with that tragedy.

Cant say I blame him.

Maybe Jon was already committed elsewhere also.

the work he has done for Habitat for Humanity is amazing, they have rebuilt a ton of ran down areas of Philly. He has a great work for a new house program in Philly.

Jon won an award for his philantrophy work last year.

Not to mention his great work with special olympics. The american red cross and the elizabeth glazer pediatric aids foundation.
