Speaking of "Don't Cry." I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but it's probably the best live performance of "Don't Cry" that I've ever seen. It's an acoustic one from 1986, and ironically enough most of the audience is TALKING during the performance. Axl absolutely nails it and the acoustic guitars are great:

oh my god!!!!!


i've seen that 100 times, but yes!! it is the best performance by Axl ever of this song.  simply amazing...if only i coulda been one of the lucky souls to have been there at that time, not knowing what a gem of a vocalist and writer they have just witnesed, and what a future legend he would once be.  If i was one of those ppl in the aduience and watching it now, I would for the first time, that i was....woah

same feeling here? my first gn'r concert, i just turned 16 the day before. funny, cuz my dad wouldn't let me go to concerts on my own until i was 16. good luck for me!

Wow. Never seen that Don't Cry acoustic from 1986. That is how the song should have been recorded. Wonderful-heartfelt, great singing great subtle guitars. I hate the UYI versions with a passion. Man, I hope they recorded a studio acoustic version at some point....would be perfect for a box set track. ok Acoustic Yesterdays would be nice as well.
