It's that funk thing that separates Bucket from Ron.?  That's what cracks me up about Bucket haters-the guy has tons of soul in his playing. When he drops the robot schtick and just rocks, he is the best guitar player I have ever seen-simple as that.?  This is a great thread by the way-these youtube things are incredible.  |

I miss Bucket so much. These clips are undeniable proof that Bucket wipes the floor with Ron Thal.
who cares if Buckethead is the better guitar player? the image & stage presence advantage that Bumblefoot has over Buckethead WAY outweighs his skill disadvantage you honestly think most NORMAL people would rather see some freakshow on stage (especially with his goddamn nunchucks) than a person who looks the part of a rock guitarist in a highly respectable band like G'n'R? the fact that Buckethead was in GNR in 2002 was a very large reason for a lot of criticism for the band got at the time... him along with Robin looking like a goth... Axl looking like shit without his cornrows tied back... Axl sounding like shit... Robin's guitar being incredibly sloppy and the list goes on.... I'm still in utter disbelief as to how much BETTER the band is now than it was just 4 years ago. btw, I'm making a video for There Was A Time. It'll be up on youtube.com in the next few days... I'll post a link when appropriate. |

And when you do that make sure you use the studio version and THAT FREAKS solo because it is hands down the best part of the song.   and ps, Axl is the reason the band is better now. He is light years better than he was in 2002. It has absolutely nothing to do with Ron Thal....although I think he is a good guy. |
