I agree, pretty unfair that so many people dismiss the "Use Your Illusions".

"Appetite For Destruction" may have been a more consistent record, but they had the better songs.

I bought SCOM, WTTJ and PC 45 singles but I never bought AFD till way after I bought UYI II which was my first full album I owned of GNR and then i bought UYI I  and AFD was actually the last GNR album I owned cause I think i got Lies before it also.

I have a habit of doing that. I start from the current album I hear and go backwards in order.

So I am more of a UYI GNR era fan

Some more in-depth info around the use of Sweet Child in The Wrestler. Mickey also talks a bit about Axl.
It's a long video, for those not interested watching the whole thing, the GN'R/Axl mentions are from 39:20 - 43:00

Patience from Baltimore 06, Axl wearing a hoodie, looking quite the gangster.  Cool

Found some DJ Ashba tracks, for those interested. As far as I know a guy named Kyle Spicer is singing on these (either that or it's DJ himself).

That was pretty good.  It almost looked like Axl was singing the song in some of those clips, which is hard to do considering they've never performed the song live before.

Good job!

I've just spent the entire afternoon watching GnR videos in youtube.

Bumped into this...it's a 3 part interview with Kurt Loader taking place I assume in the summer of 1991. This is not the one at Axl's place by the way, this interview was conducted backstage somewhere in the US in 1991. I don't know if it has been posted before...

Awesome little tid bits of info there. I didnt know Axl had an opera teacher he brought along to some shows. Also, Axl talks about the song sequence in the Illusions, talks about openning acts, Shannon Hoon, setlists, future, Axl's ligament injury, The Terminator...it's one of the best Axl interviews I've ever seen.

Axl is relaxed, in a very good mood, very articulate.

I think it's the same one Axl wore in Australia'07 where he got the pic taken with the kangaroo.

As for the performance, Axl's voice sounds better than I've ever heard. Incredible stuff. Fink's solo - specially the first part - is not that good, but the song is incredibly played throughout.
