Why do some people make it their life's mission to defend Slash on Guns N' Roses boards everyday 12 years after he left?   Its like you are on some lame nerd crusade to protect Slash and question anyone who might disagree with him.     All in the meanwhile bashing Axl and/or the guys who are actually in the band now.

Slash was 12 years ago.   We aren't obligated to like what he's done after leaving the band.

I respect him as a musician, and I like what he did in GN'R but don't like his current band's music. It's just not the kind of music I like.

I read things, I take into consideration what I've read in the past and what I know, then I base my opinion on that. Why is that wrong?

Why am I not allowed to post my own PERSONAL opinion on a site I started? Why do I have to defend my right to post on our site to people who don't agree with me?

I started off asking whether your opinion was yours or the band camp's, you admitted it was yours.
I then asked what Slash ever did to you-not an unreasonable question.
My only gripe with you was you setting rules then breaking them arbitrairily,as you see fit.
And I don't really see you as popular, I have been to numerous concerts too and I am 100% GNR's supporter++++
It isn't a personal vendetta, it was a reasonable question.

I'm amused how you guys are trying to push Jarmo to be objective when he said so many times that it's only his personal taste about the musician, but getting the facts straight about the book.

Don't much care for VR's music either, never felt the need to GO to a VR concert, but I do know a thing or two about a thing or two. Im wowed with total amazement that I finally got an answer to my question!

To get every fact straight about that book would take more than one person, each person's memories are tinted with perception, of how they saw it going down. Not to mention the addition of alchohol, drugs, whatever-a chaotic life can screw up the best laid plans. But I still maintain it could have been MUCH more negative,and included many more incidences for the parasites to run rampant with.

I am a direct, very loyal person with very little tolerance for doubletalk, I suppose I get misunderstood a lot, and misunderstand a lot, I was looking for an ulterior motive because I assume everyone has one..I am usually right.

Why did it make you relieved when you learned that the truth is, what most people already know, that I just post my own opinion?

Only a small number of people are posting things like "you're not the only insider", "who do you think you are?" and "you weren't in the band so why do you think you know these things?".

I actually only take the Official site for any real news, because you aren't the only admin with an opinion.

Ok, I think I have explained this in the past.

Back when VR started, I was curious like most fans to hear two former original members working together again in a real band.

So I got Contraband, liked some of it at first but then got tired of it as time went on. I also went to see them live based on the fact that I wanted to see Duff and Slash play live. I hadn't seen any of them in concert since 1991.

I went as a GN'R fan wanting to see some former members play music live.

Same reason why I went and saw Adler's Appetite.


What made me dislike VR? I was never a huge fan to be honest. Just a GN'R fan listening to what some former members were doing.

I put Contraband aside after a while because I got tired of it, and when I listened to it again, I didn't think it was a good as I first thought. Same thing happened with the first Snakepit album in 1995.

So when Libertad was coming, I was hoping to hear something fresh, something that would excite me again, but it didn't. It just sounded like another rushed album.

I don't agree with a lot of what that band says or does. As I've pointed out....



I don't judge music by sales.

Many of my favorite artists aren't exactly million selling artists who win Grammy awards.

I prefer Libertad to Contraband... but as Jarmo said... after listening for like months and moths I grew tired of it and rarely listen to it anymore.... not even the new album... to be honest, there are plenty more new bands out there which make really cool and fresh music... It?s just a matter of finding them.
