So Ive compiled various interviews from GnR members over the years from the Howard Stern Show. Two have been on the forums for a while (Axl and Baz call in, and Steven and Duff-1989)
Howard asks good questions of course - (unlike these untalented soft-question guys Eddie Trunk and Kurt Loder) - where we learn that Izzy once ejaculated on Slash and Axl has a small penis.....
So here goes (rundown from marksfriggin.com):
Actual Band in StudioDuff from Guns and Roses comes in. 7/25/96.Remember Guns and Roses? It's been a while since they've done anything. Anyway, Duff from GNR came in to talk to Howard and plug his new band a bit. Howard noticed that Duff is in great shape. Turns out that Duff has been kick boxing to stay in shape. As soon as Howard saw how good Duff looked and immediately figured that Duff was no longer married...he was right. Duff's marriage lasted about 3 years. Now he's single and in great shape. He's not even drinking any more. He said that his pancreas blew up so he had to give it up. Duff is in a new band, Neurotic Outsiders, with Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols. Howard played a couple of songs and they sounded pretty good. The band is filming a video this weekend for the first single. Howard was deciphering the lyrics as he does so well. He figured out what the first song was about without a problem. Duff was kind of mellow and quiet since he's not in the drinking mode. Duff said that Guns and Roses is in the process of writing new songs and Axl is in to it so keep your ears open. The Neurotic Outsiders will be playing at Webster Hall in NY on September 5 if you want to go check them out.
Slash from Guns and Roses comes in. 9/30/96.Slash came in to plug some lame movie soundtrack album that he played on. Howard questioned Slash about the whole Guns and Roses thing. Slash said that GNR has been working on a new album lately. Maybe someday it'll be released. Slash was up to his usual thing when he came in. That is he came in, cursed a few times and left. Before he came into the studio one of the new interns, Vanessa, was really thrilled to meet Slash so Howard had her in the studio. Howard wanted her to meet Slash and maybe kiss him or something. Vanessa said that she couldn't do that because she has a boyfriend. She was thrilled to meet him but would only hug him. So anyway, the movie soundtrack that he was plugging was for some movie called ''Curdled''. The music he plays is like really lame latin music.. unless you like latin music then it's okay. Slash is another celebrity that will be making a cameo appearance in Howard's movie. Howard said that Slash and his gorgeous wife will be in the movie along with Ozzy Osbourne.
Steven Adler From Guns N Roses Comes In. 1/22/97. 9:00amSteven Adler was the original drummer from Guns N Roses. He was fired from the band for his excessive drug use even though the rest of the band was using drugs at the time. Howard brought up the fact that Steven had a stroke after taking too much cocaine a few years ago. Steven said that he had a stroke and a heart attack and knocked out a tooth when he fell to the floor 3 years ago. He's only done drugs a few times since that day. He's been going to speech therapy during those years also. He really f'd himself up I guess. Steven explained why he was kicked out of Guns N Roses. It was a long story and it sounded like it had a little to do with his drug use and a little to do with a doctors mistake with a prescription. Steven was also in to plug his web site. http://www.stevenadler.com. Steven had a bunch of people with him at the studio so Howard brought them in to meet them. There were 2 porno stars, Steven's brother and a President Clinton impersonator.. What an odd collection. Steven will be performing with his new band at Billboard Live starting February 24.
Slash Calls In. 2/25/97. 6:25amFormer Guns N Roses member Slash called in to talk with Howard a little bit. He's going to be playing at the premiere but it sounded like he'll be playing over satellite. He wasn't really clear about what he would be doing and Howard barely knows what's going on around the whole thing. There's going to be a lot of surprises at that premiere.
Slash Calls In. 6/7/00. 9:20amEx-Guns N Roses guitarist, Slash, called in this morning. Howard just wanted to talk about how bad Axl's new music is and how he's still using the Guns N Roses name without the rest of the original band. Howard thinks that GNR was one of the bands he's ever heard. He asked Slash if he's bitter about the whole thing. Slash said he's really not bitter. He said he hasn't spoken to Axl in about 5 years.
Howard also asked Slash if he's still with the ''hot-piece-of-ass girlfriend'' he was with the last time he saw him. Slash said that he's been with this girlfriend for about 4 years now. The woman Howard was thinking about was Slash's wife at the time he was filming ''Private Parts''. He divorced her and moved on to a new woman. Slash said that this new girlfriend is the only one he's ever been monogamous with and it's kind of strange for him.
Howard asked Slash if he's financially set for life but Slash didn't really want to talk finances with him. He said he was set for life right from the beginning but who knows what that means? He's got a new album called ''Ain't Life Grand'' in the works with his band Snakepit that will be out in September.
Howard asked Slash if he heard Axl's horrible music that was out recently. Slash wouldn't bad mouth Axl but said that the reason he left GNR was because of the direction Axl wanted to go with music.
Slash Comes In. 9/7/01. 7:10amRocker Slash came in this morning to promote his upcoming appearance on the Michael Jackson 30th anniversary show that will air on CBS in November. Howard spoke to Slash about his failed marriage and about his new fiancee who he's been with since shortly after his marriage failed. Slash said the first marriage was one that he really wasn't happy in and he just had to get out of it. He didn't lose half of his money though. He said they'd signed a pre-nuptial agreement.
The whole interview with Slash didn't last more than 15 minutes or so. Howard just thanked him for coming in and plugged his stuff. Slash's band Snake Pit has an album out now called ''Ain't Life Grand'' and Slash is working on some other stuff without that band.
Slash Visits To Plug His Book. 11/01/07. 7:44amHoward had Slash from Velvet Revolver, and from Guns N Roses, come in. Slash has written a book so Howard started right in with that. He asked Slash if he talks about how he got started in the guitar playing thing. Slash told Howard that he did talk about how he used to spend like 12 hours a day playing guitar to get really good at it. He said that he didn't watch a clock doing that, he was just obsessed with the guitar and did it whenever he could.
Slash said that Steve Adler, from Guns N Roses, and he used to play together. He said that he was inspired to play after watching him banging on his electric guitar that he couldn't even play. Slash said that he was raised on music because his parents were in the music business. He said he found that he did have a knack for it and things worked out for him.
Howard said that Slash was at Anna Nicole's funeral so he wondered what that was about. Slash said that his wife was close to her but he wasn't. He spent a minute talking about that and then Howard wrapped up with him. Slash mentioned that the band he's in now, Velvet Revolver, has a new album out as well. That's called ''Libertad.'' They went to break after that.
Discussions About BandCheap Trick, First Band To Play In The New Studio! 11/19/96.Howard heard a story about how one of the guys beat up Slash from Guns and Roses. Rick told a story about how he had to beat Slash's ass when Slash took a swing at him one time. It was before Guns was popular so they were hanging out at Ricks house partying. Both Slash and Rick were very drunk at the time so it was probably just a stupid fight but Rick said he beat the crap out of Slash.
Sammy Hagar Comes In. 9/3/02. 7:45amHoward also asked Sammy about the MTV Video Music Awards since he was there. The two of them spent a few minutes talking about Axl Rose and what happened to him. Sammy pointed out how Axl was winded within 30 seconds of getting on stage. He said if Axl had to do a 2 hour show he would have been in trouble. The guys also talked about the hot chicks on the show.
Artie And Dana Done Again... And Wrap Up Show Discussions. 08/23/06. 6:30amHoward said he used to love Axl Rose when he was out there wearing whatever he wanted to. Now he's got corn rows and plastic surgery and he's gone a little too crazy with that stuff. Artie said he'll probably be telling some stories about his career with Dave but he has to go and talk to a producer before going on the show. He said he has to pitch stories and then the pre-interviewer will tell him what stories to use on the air.
Howard 100 News And Wrap Up Show Previews. 11/01/06. 10:25amHoward came back from break singing along to the Guns N Roses song November Rain. He said that guy (Axl Rose) was so good and wondered what happened to them. Robin said that she thinks that he may have gone nuts trying to get that song perfect. Howard thought that his Axl impression was perfect but Artie told him that he sounded like Sour Shoes doing his Scott Ferrall impression.
