Anyone wanna share their favourite books?  Or, what are you reading at the moment?

My favourite books are definately Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, I really love them.  I also love Melvin Burgess' Bloodtide and Stephen King's The Shining.  Also, you've gotta love the Harry Potter books! ok

Right now i'm just finishing Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, but i've found it pretty stupid.

My fave book is Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, also Og Mandino "El vendedor mas Grande del Mundo" or "The Bigest Salesman Of the World" I really don't know the name in english, excellent choices for me, and at last but not least Charles Dickens "Great Expectations"  peace

I thought you were like, my reading brother until that last sentance.

I loved the Harry Potter books, and have almost finished The Subtle Knife. (I know...It took me a while to get around to reading the trilogy....)

I think Stephen King books rule, and have recently ordered the first of the Dark Tower series.

But Angels and Demons...kinda stupid? Piss off. That book is incredible. As was the Da Vinci Code, but Angles and Demons is even better. You suck.

John Grisham books are great, and I'm going to buy The Broker tommorow, when I get paid...

It entertained me enough, but I couldn't stop thinking it's the kinda thing my mum would read.  Everything is so cheesy and clich?, and as Langdon (lame name, by the way) goes from building to building, it's all "well, he's obviously not gonna catch the killer until the end of the book" so for like two thirds of the story you're just going through the motions waiting for him to miraculously work out the next clue.  The kinda book you might read on a plane, but really not my kind of thing.

I read the first two, then spent about 4 years forgetting the story, so I ended up re-reading all of them.  I read each one in about a week, they're fantastic.  And, ohh, the end. Shut up Danny, shut up...

See you in the football thread, loser. Tongue

I only read it because it was lying around.

it's not a "trend". It's a recent book, so that's why many people are reading it.

It actually is a trend, I see people reading it out and about all the time and loads of people I know are reading it (and the other two) and they never read any other books
