dean koontz is in my opinion the greatest horror suspense novelist alive

who is better mr literary genius?

I love Koontz, but I reckon John Connolly is better. And not just because he's Irish.

I'm reading Insomnia by Stephen King.

I'm reading Insomnia by Stephen King.

Hmm ... I just read that a few months back ... Not his best work... but then again, it's still pretty good.

BTW, it takes place in Derry.. so it's got a few references to one of my favourites .. IT ..

Yeah, UI .. it was MCT who reported the other guy (read: SLCPunk) ....

His books should be easily available in the US as he's based in......Derry, Maine. Get his first book first, can't remember it's name, but it'll be on his site (johnconnolly.com, I think). He can be quite graphic at times, and his characters are superb, it's based around a crime dectetive, but is far more than just a crime novel.

I'm quite enjoying it at the moment.

Steinbeck?  Are you sure?  I'm too lazy to check but I'm pretty sure it wasnt Steinbeck.  It's some German guy whose name I cant remember.

I have good & bad memories of reading The Grapes of Wrath in high school.  The book itself was a good experience, writing the essays was not  no

I'm reading 100 words every high school graduate should know  From the Editors of the American Heritage Dictionaries

This book is kinda funny to me, because most people don't use these particular words in everyday life. I don't think books such as these should be abrogated, but should their claim be so belied?

But, upon reading this book, I have been less diffident with my vocabulary. And, I feel a lot less vacuous.

I read the first one in the series last summer.  I thought it was pretty good. The story was engaging, and Snape cracks me up.

I'll get around to reading the rest of them when... ahhh.... when CD comes out  Cheesy

Thats kool. You really should read them all when ya get a chance, there really good books you won't be dissapointed.

Alot of people say HP is for nerds and little kids, but they really are well written. But i hate the way the actors portray Harry and his friends in the movies. He looks and sounds like a little whinging idiot but in the books Harry's like a rebel.

The movies really suck. The books are way better, so get reading on the rest their great ok
