Just read Stephen King's Duma Key and Lisey's Story. Currently reading Catcher in the Rye. I'm probably the only English teacher on the planet that hasn't read it. I figure if Axl can make a reference to it, I should read it.

Just finished the book about Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon, An Angel on one shoulder a devil on the other.
It was pretty good and insightful about the absolute path to destruction that SH was on. It leaves you feeling for the band and more importantly his daughter, Nico.
It's just a bunch of interviews put together. I will say that nothing makes a good book kinda suck like finding typos/word misuse. I found several than/then mix ups. C'mon, you're writing a book, get it right!!
That being said, I would recommend the book to BM/SH fans.

Lee Child's books are win.
Finished
the Enemy
in one day and another one that I don't remember the title of, but it was good too!
Killing Floor
and
Bad Luck and Trouble
are good reads too, if you're into violence and guns and sex and mystery plots that aren't easy to solve.
Re-read the sequel to Chocolat over Easter (women? you might like this?), and also read A Rumour of Gems again, which is fantasy based on this world.
No, no elves, but shapeshifters and more deities than you can shake a stick at. I learned a fair bit, actually. -grin-
I also read
The Subtle Knife
by Phillip Pullman again and oh, God - I just had to stop and cry for a few minutes when Lee and Hester died. It was so beautiful and so sad I just couldn't help myself. -sniff-

I think these are his best books ever. And the first book is the worst of the bunch(but still very good). Two is twice as good as one, three is even better. Four and five are fantastic. And six and seven are phenominal.
You're lucky you can read them all straight through, I had to wait years for them to come out.

I am very happy I don't have to wait.
my brother read the first 4 in high school and now has to start back from the beginning and read all the way through.
I bought all 7 books about 2 years ago.. I've read about 60 novels over the last 2 years and I've been saving these. I finally decided to go ahead and read it.
I would've read them sooner, but its weird, I knew they'd be amazing and I wanted to save it.
The Stand is my all time favorite and I am hoping these can come close.

The Stand ranks right up there amongst my favorite novels, EVER. And I'm a big reader of classic literature, as well as sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. It is a GREAT book and it's too bad that it's length intimidates a lot of people.
I've read the Dark Tower series (and I was amongst those waiting years between books) as well, and they're very good.
