Sundiver, good book, some strong and  interesting characters although i thought it was a bit weak in some areas...he's an excellent writer and i definitely want to read more of his work...which book is next in the series?

Startide Rising, perhaps the best of the series.

And yeah, Sundiver is a tad weak in places.

And yeah, he's a good writer. About as good as the sf's get.

I'm currently re-reading "The Physics of Immortality" by Doctor Frank J. Tipler.

Basically, imagine God as scientific concept.  The Afterlife, too.. its a fascinating book - but its deep and a difficult read.

The guy's a physicist and uses words I've never even seen before.. and I think I have a pretty expansive vocabulary.

The guy's a physicist and uses words I've never even seen before.. and I think I have a pretty expansive vocabulary.

Books like that are largely piecemeal affairs, mechanical in nature and consequently boring; no matter how interesting the subject matter may be.

However I don't find them to be difficult (deep, yes) so much as bona fide exercises in tedium.

Startide Rising, perhaps the best of the series.

And yeah, Sundiver is a tad weak in places.

And yeah, he's a good writer. About as good as the sf's get.

The Crucible in English Class. It is especially funny because we had a two guys acting out the scene between Abagail and John Proctor.

Hilarity, I know
